Senator Hillary Clinton castigated President Bush and Washington Republicans today as mad with power and bent on marginalizing Democrats during a speech to 1,000 supporters at her first major re-election fund-raiser, which netted about $250,000.
Mrs. Clinton, who is running for a second term in 2006 and is widely described as a possible Democratic nominee for the presidency in 2008, said that her party is hamstrung because Republicans dissemble and smear without shame and the news media has lost its investigatory zeal for exposing misdeeds.

This woman is truly amazing....and what's worse....I think she actually believes her own stuff.
Pathetic. I can't believe people take her seriously as a potential presidential candidate.
Think about it....who else to the D's have?
Contrast this non-stop republican bashing with a GOP fundrasing event where they talk about things they are for with a little jab or two at the opposition.
And then to cry out to the media to work on thier behalf? That is a major sign of weakness. As if the media is favoring the republicans is laughable.
It sounded like Micheal Moore and Howard Dean paired up to write her speech.
I have to say again..Pathetic.
"I mean, c'mon, toughen up, guys, it's only our Constitution and country at stake," she said. "Let's get some spine."
Interesting strategy here: insult the media in hopes that they'll be more helpful. Why didn't the Republicans think of this?
Maybe cause we're too busy trying to dispel their lies, fake documents, false sources, etc.?
Senator Clinton Assails G.O.P. at Fund-Raiser

SHE'S BACK!!!
Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton castigated President Bush and Congressional Republicans yesterday as being mad with power and self-righteousness, complained that the news media have been timid in taking on the administration, and suggested that some Washington Republicans have a God complex. [Be nice to get that sound bite ~ oxen]
[snip]
"There has never been an administration, I don't believe in our history, more intent upon consolidating and abusing power to further their own agenda," Mrs. Clinton told the gathering.
"I know it's frustrating for many of you, it's frustrating for me. Why can't the Democrats do more to stop them?" she continued to growing applause. "I can tell you this: It's very hard to stop people who have no shame about what they're doing. It is very hard to tell people that they are making decisions that will undermine our checks and balances and constitutional system of government who don't care. It is very hard to stop people who have never been acquainted with the truth." [It's just hard NOT to laugh at that!! Sounds like she's talking from experience.....]
[snip]
"We can't ever, ever give in to the Republican agenda," she said. "It isn't good for New York and it isn't good for America." [So much for bipartisanship......]
[snip]
She also took a shot at the House of Representatives, calling it "a dictatorship of the Republican leadership."
Referring to the Congressional leadership, she said, "Some honestly believe they are motivated by the truth, they are motivated by a higher calling, they are motivated by, I guess, a direct line to the heavens."
[snip]
"It's shocking when you see how easily they fold in the media today," Mrs. Clinton said, again to strong applause. "They don't stand their ground. If they're criticized by the White House, they just fall apart."
"I mean, c'mon, toughen up, guys, it's only our Constitution and country at stake."
[snip]
"Maybe Hillary Clinton should focus a little more on being the junior senator for New York, and a little less on running for president," said Stephen J. Minarik III, chairman of the state Republican Party.
Run, Hillie, run....
Bwah hah hah hah hah...
WHAT A PIECE OF WORK !
LOL...Pot, meet Kettle. How she can say that the MSM has "lost its investigatory zeal for exposing misdeeds" with a straight face after the MSM wore the kneepads for Bill shows that she's either demented or she thinks we've forgotten. We haven't.
Is that a fact, o' Ms. high-and-mighty? The how come we haven't seen anything like Waco happen on the current administration's watch?
I swear to God, the vile hypocrisy and blatant lies of creatures like Hillary are proof positive of how far our nation has fallen.
Newt Gingrich was on Fox this morning, talking about his deal with Hill (joint meeting where they agreed the country needs affordable health care for all), saying '08 was too far away for him to even think about running for Pres. As for Hill, he feels we need a partnership, we shouldn't hate Liberals. She can't hide who she is and will morph back into her Leftist self soon. He didn't seem to get the idea she was using him, or maybe he did -- more likely -- and didn't care because he was using her.
Hill wants that Hispanic vote. She'll say and do whatever it takes to every interest group. If she could give the vote to illegals, she'd be out front on that, too. Why not? She wants felons to vote, but not military. She took speech lessons last spring and refined her stilted presentation, and if she can figure out what buttons to push to peel away enough likely voters, she'll do it.
It's all about promising this or that to special interest groups. What are soccer moms worried about? Health care, secure borders...she could fog away on that one without specifics and not offend illegals by 'regularizing' those already here and giving them the vote along with drivers' licenses.
Criminey, almost too much to stomach this early in the morning ;^)
Thanks for the ping. Read later (I think!)
Hillary is a walking nightmare. She believes she was meant to be President, power mad, vicious, without conscience. She'd wreck the country without batting an eye. We're all 'little people' in flyover country, stepping stones for her ascent to greatness. The MSM knows she's bad news but don't care. It will be interesting to see how they cover the GOP candidate, whoever he/she is. They hated GW, but how can they actually hate Condi or George Allen?
(Okay, those scurrilous cartoons and articles when she was named Sec. of State show they already hate her. She thinks for herself. For any black person, man or woman, that's fatal. They're supposed to be in lockstep with the dems.)Dick Cheney, they hate him. If he changed his mind and decided to run, they'd sharpen the knives.
The dems are bankrupt in the idea department. They keep using the same old game plan, attack, smear, lie, whatever. Interesting to see Kerry's grades at Yale were no better than GW's, in fact he had four D's his freshman year. Meanwhile he posed as Einstein.
The dem party is in trouble, hence the media frenzy dragging out Deepthroat, etc., impeachment threats at GW. In the last election cycle they coordinated attacks on GW with book publishers, movies, tv appearances of various Bush haters, nonstop media blitzing for months. In some back room on the Cape or Martha's Vineyard, they're planning a similar scenario for '08, already setting up files on every likely GOP candidate. P.I. firms and various 'operatives' to dig up or make up dirt, make threats. Hill's already knee deep in FBI files.
Yep, it won't matter who the GOP puts up, the MSM will love to hate him/her. Conversely, they will embrace Hillary and always show her in a glowing light.
Sounds like she's got the Deanavitius virus.
Does footage exist from this event? If so, I need it ASAP.
