Schroeder wrote a big fat check to both the Dover Township and Brick Township pubbies. As a result he had the county line in Ocean County.

Sikhs live to kill Muslims. Have for centuries. Somebody needs to bone up on the Raj. But at least that explains the stupid photo of Bret in the turban. I was scanning the boards before and got a chuckle out of it. Still no numbers from Bergen, though . . . maybe there will be a miracle.

Yeah, I know, but I'm shocked that translated into actual votes! He even looks like a fringe candidate. At least Todd C. is smooth and Paulie Walnuts tough.

I am almost certain that if Forrester wins the social conservatives will stay home in droves.

What social conservatives in NJ? I don't think they have the clout in that state to tip a race for dogcatcher, let alone governor. :-)

And so did every moron who went out there and threw their vote away.

It's a primary, not a coronation for Bret Schundler. If his ideas and leadership skills were so great, Bret would be leading tonight. But he is a wishy washy loser with troubling Muslim connections, and a tendency to speak in P.C. tones in front of certain audiences. I heard him speak 2 weeks ago and he sounded like a Democrat. Bret is just a political loser, and should give up politics for a think tank job where he could use his sharp economic mind to best advantage.

Message board went that way because of the attacks from my honest initial question of 'isn't anyone concerned with all of the terrorism that birthed from J.C.'.

Instead of an honest discussion coming from it, vile attacks were launched.

THAT had more effect than you will ever realize.

Your entire discussion was a vile attack. Look at your charge.

Oh well, now that the election is over, you can work on educating all of us about Bret Schundler, who apparently works with Osama!

Take me up on my challenge and report it to the Times. How come you won't? Oh yeah, that's right- because you know your charge is just a bunch of overinflated incendiary bomb throwing.

"Smarmy smarmy smarmy."

You're a broken record. Doesn't matter though, you just pointed out how wrong your allegation was, if you're too scared to even report it to the mainstream media.

Schundler won the primary last cycle by appealing to the social conservatives. He put together a strong coalition of pro-life catholics and evangelicals. He definitely soft peddled that aspect this time around, I believe to his deficit since Lonegan picked up some of the people who voted for him Schundler last time.

The "He" is probably more Eisenberg and his henchmen and advisors - in my opinion.

These are Democrat, not Republican tactics and Eisenberg probably learned them working with Fritzie Mondale.

He couldn't really do much in that situation; Lonegan was clearly the most conservative candidate, and those conservatives all swung towards him. So Schundler could have kept going after them, but he likely would have lost a lot of moderates- and the opportunity to win the main election had he won this primary. So it seems like it was a calculated gamble.

Unfortunately, the more conservative folks in NJ decided they're try to have it all by voting for Lonegan (who had no chance) instead of taking as much as they could realistically get by voting for Schundler. I fail to see how voting for Lonegan really did anything to promote their conservatism, but hey.

Schundler is a wishy washy loser. Have said this from day one. He is smart and will be much more effective at the Heritage Foundation or another think tank. But (hopefully) his career in politics is at an end.
