I think Kerry has a great chance for the nomination. It really all depends on whether the wink and nod Hillary gives the far left while pretending to be moderate rubs off on far left voters.
There is no way, if Kerry comes in as anti war can Hillary, who has portrayed herself as pro-war argue this during primary debates.
Funny thing about this is how does Hillary respond after the primaries if she wins the nomination as a moderate? I would think the left will stay home in the general.

"Yeah, but remember he was largely nominated for 2 reasons: his "war hero" record (so much for that) and he was supposedly "electable" (so much for that as well). "
WRONG!!! Kerry was nominated because he outDeaned Dean and went so far to the left that the moderates stayed home. Kerry's problem, aside from the obvious,(POS) was that he was so far to the left, he could not come back to the middle to appeal to moderate voters.
Hillary already positioned herself for the general election as being pro-military and being seen around town with Newt. All she has to do is appease her NARAL, ACT UP and MOVEON financiers and hope that in the primaries the left come out for her despite her moderate stance.

They just don't get it! Kerry lost to an overwhelmingly popular and successful man, the reasons for this are many however, one of the reasons was Kerry's record in the Senate, it was abysmal. His pace has picked up and the arrogant man is everywhere proposing unconstitutional bills such as an insurance program for children - cradle to grave government care.
Kerry is a Socialist, another condescending, overbearing, dem who doesn't think we're smart enough to take care of ourselves.
Hey Kerry! You lost; America doesn't want cradle to grave unconstitutional care; America doesn't want a traitor, liar, anti-American person in the Oval Office. America has what they deem the near perfect man there now; President Bush does not need to dream up who he is going to be today - what you see is what you get...he lives his beliefs - few politicians can do that...President Bush can make decisions without having to call four or more people to see if it will sell or if he is on the right track...the Bush White House has enormous respect for that office and if nothing else, he has the perfect First Lady. Dont waste our time or your time go back to Snow Boarding

Besides being an aristocrat, he's an insufferable bore.Besides being an alleged aristocrat. He was one of the poorer relations. He got his access to money through two marriages to extremely wealthy women.

I do hate to disagree with you, but Kerry got the nomination because the alternatives were just too scary to think about. Those alternatives included:
1. A former Senator from Illinois who was implicated (and I think indicted, but I'd have to check) in some financial shenanigans. Carol Moseley Braun was merely window dressing to show a "more inclusive" party by running a black female. I watched the three million hours of what passed for demomoron debates during their primaries and she always looked as if she expected to get a Happy Meal for merely showing up.
2. A former racial rabble rouser who's main claims to fame included Tawana Brawley, instigation of a riot which led to a deadly arson, and getting himself stabbed in Bensonhurst (no mean feat, as I'm originally from Brooklyn myself). Reverend Al was merely allowed to get involved for the same reasons as Mosleley Braun.
3. A sentaor that perhaps three people had ever heard of. I.E. Tom Harkin.
4. A Senator once regarded as "the conscious of the Senate" who obviously traded in his principles for a VP nomination. However, if you ask me, Joe Lieberman was still infinitely more electable than Kerry and even Hillary.
5. A former General who won a "war" by denying Serbs running water and flush toilets, and then quickly proceeded to lose the "peace" by allowing the French to dictate terms and strategy. Wes Clark was more window dressing: see, we have a victorious general in our camp, too!
6. JOhn Edwards couldn't get elected dog catcher in East Buttf*ck, Idaho, but winning the retarded Yankee vote in Raleigh, NC was an infinitely easier task (I know, I now live in Charlotte, NC). Edwards was all Jimmy Carter: a big, wide grin with a pair of eyeballs that allowed you to see into his empty head.
7. Howard Dean? 'nuff said. You can't call Bush a lunatic on a daily basis and then advance a real screaming maniac as a viable candidate.
By process of elimination, that left Kerry. Simply put, he didn;t out-Dean Dean and he didn't need to bend over backwards to the far left (except to position himself in order to get in on Dean fundraising organization). He was simply the last man standing.

It will be Hillary. The GOP will remain in a state of flux right up until the bare wire. Probably McCain.
(At the rate things are going, it could be a Hillary-McCain ticket either way.)

Don't laugh. It could actually happen.
The last two years of President Bush's tenure will be anybody's guess as to what shenanigans the RINOs will pull off.
