A Minnesota State Trooper has been charged with sexually assaulting a 15-year-old girl who frequently babysat his son.
According to the criminal complaint, Lt. Scott Trautner was charged with seven counts of criminal sexual conduct.
In the complaint, the teen says the 40-year-old trooper assaulted her last winter in his Woodbury home that he shares with his wife, also a state trooper.
The complaint says the girl, then 14, was spending the night at Trautner's home after he took her and his four-year-old son to see Santa Claus.
The girl told investigators that she and Trautner were watching television in the basement when he turned on a porn channel. She says he then began to touch her in a sexual nature. He then undressed her and performed a sex act on her, and asked her to perform a sex on him. She refused.
The complaint alleges that Trautner continued talking sexually around the girl.
In April, after attending a domestic abuse seminar at her school, the girl told the guest speaker what had happened and the speaker reported the conversation to the school counselor.
Investigators were notified and the information gathered led to the seven counts of criminal sexual conduct.
Trautner has been a trooper for 20 years and works out of the east metro district in St. Paul. His file contains 34 letters of commendation, a patrol lifesaving award for a fire rescue in 1993 and a 2000 merit award for negotiating with an armed suspect.
Who knows what the truth is here but one thing is for sure - this guy is effffed
Sounds a little strange ,why would a babysitter spend the night? where was the troopers wife? She let him undress her? somethings fishy.
Rape is rape, and at that age, even if she consented...
It's still rape.
I hope for both of their sakes that this never happened.
Agree that her version of "her" role sounds suspicious, tha fact remains that he is 40 and she was 14. THERE IS NOTHING THAT CAN EXCUSE HIS BEHAVIOR I DON'T CARE IF SHE BEGGED FOR IT.
I agree completely, if he did it. If he's innocent, God help him, because no one else will.
Probably babysitting the babysitter.

It is a shame that this story ( any story like this ) had to run before any hard evidence other than her word on a year old incident. He is basically screwed even if innocent.
That's the thing...whether or not this is true, his life is over.

Something is missing here.
If they bring cases like this to light I'd say they are holding them for good reason.
Whatever the story, if he did it, even if she was willing, it is statutory rape.
Friends of mine are cops.. husband and wife.
If there is anybody you don't want to screw around on its a state trooper for a wife.
Our friend will hack into his email, track his internet use and check on the movies he watches.
I understand those are now standard fare in some schools systems.
