Gourmet Fare at Gitmo 'Gulag'
NewsMax ^ | June 12, 2005 | Carl Limbacher

After Rep. Duncan Hunter's eye-opening description of how terrorist suspects are living high on the hog at the U.S. detention center at Guantanamo Bay, prisoners from around the world will no doubt be clamoring for a 'gulag' cell of their own.

Appearing on Fox News Sunday, the House Armed Services Committee chairman began by detailing tonight's dinner menu at Gitmo - which all detainees, including one suspected of being involved in the 9/11 plot, will enjoy.

"For Sunday they're going to be having Orange Glazed Chicken, Fresh Fruit Roupee, Steamed Peas and Mushrooms, Rice Pilaf - we treat them very well," he told Fox.

Last night, Hunter said, the U.S. "torture victims" enjoyed the same kind of gourmet fare, including an entree of "Lemon-baked Fish."

On the other hand, feeding the detainees MRE's, the standard fare given to our troops on the front lines, is strictly verboten - considered an "abuse" under restrictions imposed by Congress, Hunter said.

The top House Republican also noted that the religious practices of the terrorist suspects held at the U.S. "gulag" are scrupulously accommodated, explaining:

"We give them honey and dates when they break fast at Ramadan. We give them prayer beads and prayer oil - all paid for [by the U.S. taxpayer.]

"In fact," he said, "if you did that for American GI's - if you had a call to prayer five times a day - the ACLU would sue on the basis that we violated the separation between church and state."

I read a book called "Against All Hope" by Armando Valladares who spent 22 years in various Cuban prisons. There is a gulag on Cuba and it ain't gitmo.

I saw that this morning. The guy from Human Rights Watch, Tom Malinowski, looked at Duncan Hunter like he had three heads as he read his list of gourmet foods (torture! Oh the horrors!).

It was pretty funny.

Orange Glazed Chicken

4 boneless, skinless chicken breast halves
Marinade:
1/2 cup fresh orange juice
2 tbsp lemon juice
2 tbsp honey
2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
2 tbsp Dijon mustard, grainy style is best
1 tbsp grated orange rind
1 tsp dried tarragon
Garnish:
Sprigs of watercress and orange slices

Place the chicken in a large glass-baking dish. Combine the marinade in a bowl and pour over the chicken and marinate in the refrigerator for 2 hours.

Preheat the oven to 375 degrees and bake the chicken in the marinade for 16 to 18 minutes. Increase the heat to broil and run under the broiler for 4 minutes, or until golden.

FRmail me to be added or removed from this Judaic/pro-Israel ping list.

WARNING: This is a high volume ping list

What a crock! You should see what passes for school lunches these days! I have an idea...lets feed these bastards our kids "hot meals", and give the kids orange chicken.

My bf says that Sheriff Arpaio(sp) should be transferred from Arizona to Gitmo. PBJ three times a day! And pink panties!!!

I agree. ACLU/AI need to ask the Falun Gong what its like to live in a Chicom gulag to find out what a gulag is!

This is disgusting. Our tax dollars, that we work damned hard for, going to put these bastids up in style!

And we gotta ask how long its going to go on for

In American prisons like San Quentin, (I think it's in Califronia), prisoners are kept in infamously horrid conditions and treated quite unpleasently. You think they get to eat things like lemon chicken? What would be the fate of someone in a jail like San Quentin who had done something like 9/11? Muslims who whine about how harsh their brethren are treated in Gitmo need a colossal a$$ kicking. America has become way too kind to its enemies.

What made it so that 4 years ofter the greatest atrocity of this generation we are making sure its perpetrators are comfortable? Now is the time to, as I've said before, to make them jump into cesspools, sewers and septic tanks with 40 pound blocks of concrete tied to their necks, then break their legs and push them into a pit filled with poisonous spiders, snakes and wasps, and then do more good stuff like that.

You can be sure you won't read about it in the NY Slimes, or the LA Slimes, or the Washington Compost or any of the left wing rags. Neither will you hear about it on the MSM news networks

If Bush does buckle to the hype the prisoners should be moved to a jail near Beverly Hills, CA.

I grew up in Gitmo.
Now there's a post all by itself. Care to share some details? I grew up in a town in Arizona with whites, blscks, mexicans and indians and a few asians thrown in for good measure. For the most part we were all friends and got along but somedays you didn't want to take the shortcut home behind the gym - still just rural America compared to you! What was life in Gitmo like? I'm all ears ;-)

Too many lawyers in LA. They need to put it right next to the place where the pilots get there training to carry a pistol on the plane. In other words, it ought to be in a place that is really expensive and hard to get to so we can drain the ACLU's coffers.

I read "One Day in the Life of Ivan Denisovich" when I was 13 years old in 1965.

...I read it in '73, (the Swedes make it in a movie, don't recall if it ever made it to the USA)..about an year before I read Gulag Archipelago, (Paper-all 3 vol.)...The 'Rats/MSM are so consumed w/ an Anti-American rage, its really scary...I hope it really tears them Apart.

One Whataburger breaks that habit in a hurry.

White Castle "Sliders", Krystal's and Sonic really falls flat in comparison. The Old Menu WAS just S/L Hamburgers, Hot Dogs, fries/?Onion Rings? and Cold Root Beer...on a hot day, nothing was finer.

from TIME:

Dripping Water or Playing Christina Aguilera Music: After the new measures are approved, the mood in al-Qahtani’s interrogation booth changes dramatically. The interrogation sessions lengthen. The quizzing now starts at midnight, and when Detainee 063 dozes off, interrogators rouse him by dripping water on his head or playing Christina Aguilera music. According to the log, his handlers at one point perform a puppet show “satirizing the detainee’s involvement with al-Qaeda.” He is taken to a new interrogation booth, which is decorated with pictures of 9/11 victims, American flags and red lights. He has to stand for the playing of the U.S. national anthem. His head and beard are shaved. He is returned to his original interrogation booth. A picture of a 9/11 victim is taped to his trousers. Al-Qahtani repeats that he will “not talk until he is interrogated the proper way.” At 7 a.m. on Dec. 4, after a 12-hour, all-night session, he is put to bed for a four-hour nap, TIME reports.

I don't a problem with any of this....

Let's compare:

we play Christina Aguilera, they fly airplanes into buildings.

we make them 'uncomfortable' around women, they behead civilians with dull knives on video

we give the dipsh*t an IV after he refuses to drink water, they walk into crowds of the own people at police stations and set off large bombs.

we give the scumbag a puppet show, they beat their women for learning to read.

any questions?
