U. S. Rep. Tom Tancredo, a vocal critic of President Bush's immigration policy, announced he would run for President in 2008 - if he could not find a more viable candidate to adopt his views on illegal immigration.

I don't know any supporters of Cong. Tancredo that think Hillary is on the same page as Cong. Tancredo. I do know that Sen. Clinton supported the Craig-Kennedy amnesty bill for illegal alien agricultural workers. Sen. McCain and Sen. Hagel both supported that amnesty bill for illegal aliens. It seems as though both those senators are on the same page as her with regard to amnesty for illegal aliens.

Cong. Tancredo is a solid conservative. He is rated 0% by NARAL. He is rated B+ by the NRA. He is rated 84% by the National Taxpayers Union, indicating a "Taxpayer's Friend" on tax votes. He has a lifetime score of 98 by The American Conservative Union.

Cong. Tancredo's positions on immigration are supported by a majority of the American people. Giving amnesty to illegal aliens is not supported by a majority of the American people.

Cong. Tancredo is not leaving the Republican Party. Sen. McCain and any other Republican that supports amnesty for illegal aliens is stabbing the American people in the back.

"Tancredo's plan does not give legal status to illegal aliens. "

There is no list of "illegal aliens". All one would have to do is apply for a guest laborer visa while back in Mexico for Christmas holidays.

Even those who entered legally and stayed after their legal period expired are not on any list because CPB does not keep up with who exits the country.

Tancredo's followers are as much in denial as Buchanan's were. If Tancredo named a MS13 LaRaza leader as his VP his followers would probably reconcile it just like Buchanan's followers did when he named a communist leader.

He deserves the support of every American who cares about the future of our country.

I honestly agree with that, and he will get my support if he runs.

Tancredo is a good man but I do expect him to be attacked mercilessly should he run. McCain supporters are already trying to setup the doomsday scenario of intimidating conservatives with the "it's either him or Hillary" strawman argument.

Here come all the pro-illegals. Now lets watch them explain how "adamantly against illegal immigration" they are as the simultaneously attack any and all who dont support the virtual open border Bush line.

The supporters of Cong. Tancredo are not in denial. However, you apparently are.

In the "about" section for bayourod, you state that
"[l]abor unions are another obvious group that has always fought immigrant labor and now sees an opportunity to co-opt the anti-illegals movement.

I don't know where you have been for the last five (5) years, but the next sentence contains a news flash for you.
The AFL-CIO has been supporting amnesty for illegal aliens since February 2000. Here is a link to a February 16, 2000, press release by the AFL-CIO supporting amnesty for illegal aliens.

He'll get my vote and the votes of many Repubs , independents and even Dems on this subject.

As I predicted, Alberto Gonzalez was a bad choice, although he is mirroring the views of Bush II, who apparently has no problem with the United States becoming a Latin American nation.

I don't think that Congressman Tancredo has a chance at either the nomination or the presidency, but I'd give him a protest vote to show the rest of the party that I agree with his stance on illegal immigration. I'm tired of paying for healthcare and education for these people just so dishonest businessmen can have labor at below-market prices.

Cong. Tancredo will do well in the 2008 Republican primaries. A majority of Republicans, Democrats and Independents support the immigration positions of Cong. Tancredo.

If the Quislings have as much of an "inside track" with the Republican party as they have on this forum, I'm not hopeful about the chances of defending our Constitution or national sovereignty for many more years.

Quisling: a synonym for traitor, someone who collaborates with the invaders of his country.

U.S. Constitution Article 4 Section 4:

"The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government,

and shall protect each of them against Invasion;"

Invasion: \In*va"sion\, n. [L. invasio: cf. F. invasion. See Invade.] [1913 Webster]

1. The act of invading; the act of encroaching upon the rights or possessions of another; encroachment; trespass.

Lots of knee jerk and mongering responses to your perfectly reasonable post. Typical.

Tancredo is tainted Nationally. He's a non-issue.

We had at least fifteen hundred (1,500) people in attendance at an anti-illegal immigration rally in Nashville, Tennessee, on Thursday night. I wore a Tancredo for Persident 2008 sticker on my shirt and received many positive comments about Cong. Tancredo.
Cong. Tancredo already has a solid following among conservative Republicans.

We'll soon find out if the Republican Party is totally in the bag for the open borders elites.

Judging by the numbers of Quislings tolerated on this *conservative* forum, I have grave doubts about the national party leadership.

Listen to what Tancredo has stated - corporate backers of the Republican party want cheap labor, and the Dems want the illegal votes. Give a Democrat a body and they'll find some way to register it - illegal or not.

John McCain and the evil six associates of his are Quislings.

Senator Martin of Florida is a Quisling - he went over to the Dems on Guantanamo.

Some Representative from North Carolina - a Republican and former supporter of the Persian Gulf War is now stating it was a mistake to have gone in, Bush should "apologize" and "explain' to the American people why we went in, and we should set up a timetable to get out.

What's going on with the Republicans in Washington is nothing short of incredible.

THEY won a majority in Congress, NOT the Dems. THEY won the Presidency, not the Dems.

The heart of Republican social and fiscal philosophy represents the majority opinion of most Americans on immigration as well other issues - that's why they were elected.

Yet Republicans still pander to the Dems and to the media as though they LOST.

I don't get it. The problem isn't with our message, but with a lot of the messengers.

Unless the Republican Party as a whole can get its act together, deliver on its message and punish adequately those quislings in its own ranks like John McCain, they are going to loose next time around. And the time will have arrrived for a fresh new party of opposition to appear - one more able and committed to deal with the socialists and crypto-communist one-worlders in the Democrat Party.
