To: I still care

It doesn't matter if the basement was a luxury suite; the kid should be able to walk about his own house as he pleased. The dog doesn't own the place. As for him giving her a hard time, it sounds as if the dog was giving her an even harder time. Ultimately, the kid paid with his life for his mother's selfishness and stupidity.

Well don't be surprised if the cop that shot the other dog isn't charged with cruelty to animals.

Oh, I agree. I was just addressing that people were upset the dogs were upstairs and the kid in the basement. The basement may have been the nicer part of the house.

But you are right, dogs must always be last in the order. If it's not the kids house to roam, then the dog isn't safe, period.

Why was she keeping uncontrollable, dangerous animals like this in the first place? I'm a lot more inclined to blame her than I am to blame the breed of dog, since she realized she had these remarkably dangerous aniimals and still kept them, apparently with the intent to breed them.
