STAND FIRM FOR GITMO - for America, for the world!
WASHINGTON TIMES.COM ^ | JUNE 14, 2005 | EDITOR

"Sure, a few may come back to haunt us," wrote New York Times columnist Thomas Friedman in arguing to close down the U.S. detention center at Guantanamo Bay. Who are the "few" that Mr. Friedman is thinking of, and what exactly does he mean by haunting? Perhaps the case of Mohammed al Qahtani, a Guantanamo detainee profiled in the current issue of Time magazine, offers insight.

From a Guantanamo logbook, Time reports that interrogators did a number of unpleasant things to al Qahtani to get him to talk. These included shaving his beard, stripping him naked, ordering him to bark like a dog, depriving him of sleep -- to the music of Christina Aguilera, no less -- and violating his "personal space" with a vulgar female interrogator.

Interrogators also showed al Qahtani gruesome images of September 11 and asked him to write letters of apology to the victims' families. Al Qahtani is the so-called 20th hijacker of September 11. To those offended by the "torture" techniques -- and judging by the outrage coming from Capitol Hill, this comprises a growing body -- we urge them to remember that bloody day.

Sen. Mel Martinez, who said, "[Guantanamo has] become an icon for bad stories, and at some point you wonder the cost-benefit ratio." Broken down, what Mr. Martinez means is that the symbol of Guantanamo is inciting more otherwise moderate Muslims to embrace fanaticism, while at the same time tarnishing America's image in the Western world. Neither argument persuades. Even worse, they belie a naive understanding of our enemies and our allies.

Two things:

This monster still has his head (how do terrorists treat us in captivity?)

and

if not Gitmo, it would be somewhere else........(we could just release everyone from prison in the US while we are at it too to appease PC and the left.....)

It only took 19 to murder 3,000 Americans. 19 may be a bit more than a few but not that many. Have these people, including Senator Martinez, forgot what it felt like on September 11?

Been there. Thought that. Wrote about it, up to four years ago. Remember, Senator Martinez was the 10-watt bulb who put out that nasty memo which he later said "I never read." When you think it through, the Gitmo coverage, and most public comments, are just plain cr*p.

Why does anyone pay attention to the left. There is absolutely nothing that you or I could say that they would not take the exact opposite view. So either stick to your guns and be true to your core beliefs, we'll be way ahead of them.
When it comes to opinions of this nature my favorite quote is. "Opinions are like hemroids, every asshole has one".

What has happened to the American people who think Git-Mo is such a terrible place. I wouldn't mind if they shipped a lot of headless prisoners back home from Git-MO like those animals do.

When my father was in the United States Marines over in China, he turned two Chinese men in for stealing sugar. The next morning he was shocked to see them both hanging in a tree from the end of a rope. He never quite expected to see them treated so harshly for stealing a small amount of sugar.

My father quickly learned that the people of the United States of America had alot more value for human life. Are enemies know this and use it against us as it works as a very good weapon to shame the people in this country that don't understand that they really could care less what we do to their prisoners. They sure don't mind blowing their own people to shreds with suicide bombers. The U.S. of A. needs to quit being a bunch of laughed at buffoons and cry babies and start treating enemy prisoners like they treat our prisoners. Which is usually a very short haircut below the neck with a rusty knife.

We need to hang a few bad apples from bridges, in return for the treatment some of our heroes had to suffer, as well as the indignity.

Let's fight dirty.

Let's publish a comparison of the number of Iraqi and Afghan prisoners who've died in prison with the number of elderly French who died last summer thanks to their careless children.

"What has happened to the American people who think Git-Mo is such a terrible place."

It is all an illusion and a perpetuation of "The Big Lie" - thanks to our liberal media who are desperate to invent "crimes" done under George W. Bush's administration, because there aren't any real ones. They've looked everywhere and have tried everything. No dice......so they blow one or two minor incidents out of proportion and turn it into a massive, worldwide hate-America movement.

How I loathe liberals and the media which so willingly does their dirty work for them.

They should have Paramount build 3-D SpongeBob rides/shows at Gitmo and Abu Ghraib (like the one at King's Dominion). Unbelievably annoying, as the chairs shake you around and the whole jarring experience of SpongeBob is expanded to three dimensions.

Annoying as hell, but perfectly safe, and CBS would have to do positive news stories about it, since it is part of Viacom.

I think they should be sent to live in Vermont with Pat Leahy. They wants them out of Gitmo. He should welcome them to Vermont.

Someone may have already scooped me on this but WoC "news" has learned that DoD will close Gitmo and other camps outside of Iraq and Afghanistan.

The Pentagon has concluded negotiations with Club Med after much prodding by Senate Democrats.

Club Med will integrate the camps into their worldwide facilities. Islamic staff will be hired and the Democrats' demands will be met that no torture be allowed such as denying full services and rights of paying guests to the prisoners.

"Maybe the world will like us again," said one Democrat Senator. "I feel so sad for these guys, they could be my children or grandchildren," said one sobbing Republican Senator.

Rush really took them apart today - go read his website - it will make you feel better.

Rush never fails to articulate what I'm feeling and thinking about this Gitmo thing.

Rush made a brochure about Gitmo - and we're starting a new Gitmo cookbook!!

I'll tell you what .. the dems are going to be very sorry they brought this subject up.
