Didn't see a thread started for tonight's special election results. This is to fill the seat vacated by Rob Portman when he became the US trade ambassador.
If anyone has a better election results link, please share it.
I hope the good candidates don't split the vote and let DeWine slip in. Any predictions while we await results?
Everyone on this website seems to have their own prediction. With a special election primary, it all depends on which candidate can get his/her core supporters to the polls. The buzz around town is that DeWine has been tanking in the polls, but he has the advantage of name recognition which may save him in the end. Seems like with an 11-candidate field, a candidate will need only about 35% of the vote to win. It should be interesting at least.
Good! I was looking for election results. Been fasting and praying all day DeWeenie would go down in flames.
I predict the winner wins with about 30% of the vote.
It might be McEwen, it might be Brinkman, it might be Dewiner.
Are these absentee votes?
Who is most conservative? Who do we want to win?
I'm from Ohio.
Now we are up to 3% of precincts reporting.
McEwen 29%
Brinkman 26%
Schmidt 19%
Dewine 15%
If Hamilton isn't in yet - GREAT. If it is, not so great unless Brinkman does well outside his district as well.
Most of us are for Brinkman, some of us are for Schmidt, others are for McEwen and almost all of us are anti-Dewine.
I am with you, we already are stuck with one Dewine
Exactly.
Brinkman and Dewine are from Hamilton county. Schmidt is from Claremont county IIRC, and McEwen has represented some of the other counties before. This could be a highly regional race.
Maybe he'll be Dewhining to his father.
If Dewine loses tonight, will his daddy realize why it was?
IF I had to guess. I'd guess Hamilton is not in as it's a bigger county. I could be wrong.
Hamilton County always seems to report results quicker than the ring counties, so if I had to guess, I'd say these were Hamilton County absentee and early precincts reporting.
I like Brinkman because he put out HB 228 (He's 100 percent pro-life.
I read today in Columbus Dispatch that McEwan had James Dobson's support, and that Brinkman is against the death penalty.
It's hard to sort through info.
Either would be better than DeWine. I'll be fasting and praying that Dewine loses.
Yes, I will make sure he does.
His cowardly role in the filibuster compromise. But he still thinks he is a hero.
Is there a conservative Who could challenge Daddy WeWine in 2006?
We need to get Voinovich and Dewine out of their. That's just my opinion
