I don't remember a time when CBS ever had a real successful morning show. I do think you're right about Fox and Friends. I think there was at least one week or one month when Fox News cleaned CBS' clock. That might still be the case, which is really amazing when you think about all the additional households that have access to CBS.

Big mistake

See, I don't think it was a "mistake" within the bounds of electoral politics in Illinois, any more than the rhetoric of Ruffin or Beauregard was a political "mistake" in their context.

Durbin made himself more popular in Illinois with his comments, and solidified his base.

The right question is, "solidified to do what?"

Kennedy, and Durbin, and Leahy, and Boxer, et.al., are rhetorically at war with the government of the United States. They are whipping up their foot soldiers to march down a path that leads to Antietam, and Gettysburg.

The problem with Durbin is not his stupidity-it's his amoral calculation of risk and benefit to him personally.

We are eventually going to have to fight his supporters-and there are more of them than you think.

"Take a lesson from Bush, basically ignor it, and let the dumbasses destroy their party!"

Sorry for snipping your post. Everything you say is true.

One thing we can't ignore is the fact that Turbin's words (that are quoted in Al Jazeera) will embolden the terrorists fighting our soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan.

That's why Turbin needs to issue an apology.

I don't think a majority of people even in Illinois would agree with the exact statement made by Durbin. He went too far. There are a lot of Bush haters in Illinois, but it wasn't all that long ago that a Republican was elected U.S. Senator in that state.

I remember a few years ago when they hired Bryant Gumbel a few years ago. That worked out well. /sarcasm

I don't want an apology from Durbin, but he definitely needs to apoligize to our men and women in the armed forces. The sooner the better

Just saw a snipit of the POS's speech saying he was only repeating an FBI report. Bullshit! He and the libs are being quoted in Al Jazeera and putting our troops in un-called-for peril. He and the rest of the libs should be censored and that POS should apologize and then resign or impeached for treason!

REPUBS should offer to send Durbin and Bagdad Bob McDermott on a road show across the US. If a few more people could hear their indictments of the brave sons and daughters of our many citizens, the RATS cold really enter third part status in this country.

Al-Jazeera isn't refusing to comment.

One line from an article at their site today:

"Will Iraq turn into a new Vietnam eventually bringing the U.S. to its senses ... or perhaps to its knees?"

Have you ever wondered why the democrats have been losing ground to the republicans? It's because of nitwits like Durban.

Durban needs to suffer the same sadness as Daschle. He is a disgrace to the nation, the senate, the democrats, and the state of Illinois.

Rep. Walter Jones, {{{REPUBLICAN}}} of North Carolina, introduced a Resolution on the House Floor to demand President Bush set a timetable for withdrawal of U.S. troops from Iraq. He also appeared on C-Span with DENNIS KUCINICH AND OTHER DEMS, TO BASH THE WAR EFFORT. I created a thread to highlight what he and Rep. John Duncan, {{{REPUBLICAN}}} of Tennessee, are doing against the War, the military and President Bush. BTW, Nancy Pelosi is calling for an announced timetable of U.S. troop withdrawal.

Dennis Kucinich? Nancy Pelosi? What company these two Southern Republican Congressmen are keeping these days! We need to hold OUR OWN accountable.

The Media is trumpeting them to show that, see, see, even Conservative Republicans are turning against the War and President Bush:

"CALLING REPUBLICANS JONES AND DUNCAN TO ACCOUNT RE: IRAQ"

In a Tuesday night speech to the Senate, after reading an e-mail from a FBI agent, somebody said: "If I read this to you and did not tell you that it was an FBI agent describing what Americans had done to prisoners in their control, you would most certainly believe this must have been done by Nazis, Soviets in their gulags, or some mad regime -- Pol Pot or others -- that had no concern for human beings. Sadly, that is not the case. This as the action of Americans in the treatment of their prisoners."

And if nobody told you who said this, you would never guess it was a US Senator. You would think it was Saddam, Osama or Zarqawi.

wasn't it rick santorum who used a nazi analogy (NOT comparison) to make a point recently? and didn't the MSM and all the dems freak out about the very word? where is the outrage now in the wapo and the dems when someone in their own party compares this COUNTRY to nazi germany?

they betray themselves. disloyal to this country, they are the party of dissension and deconstruction.

Take a lesson from Bush, basically ignor it, and let the dumbasses destroy their party!

The Democrats are verbal terrorists and they will not go away. You can't ignore them or one day they will fly their planes into the tallest building they can find; I speak metaphorically.

We must fight harder than them. In the world of terrorism, if they kill one of ours, we must kill 10 of theirs. We must do so decisively and immediately following their attacks and make them understand that they will suffer, and that they will always suffer if they attempt these tactics.

Feel good, polite responses will only enable them and get us all killed (as a country)

"I'm sure most Democrat politicians weren't offended by Durban's remarks. They're waiting for the poll numbers to come in to see how they should play it."

Now that is a true statement, politicians are about themselves first.
