Interesting indeed Dolly I can remember as a child that my nan and even my mum considered it was only women of "certain type" wore red dresses. I can remember how my nan used to be upset about the connotations of red because it was her favourite colour and was quite pleased when she found out that people no any longer consider wearing red was a problem and she wore it with pride then.
Of course in Britain red also has links with the Labour Party and and socialists in general so most senior Conservatives wives do not often wear red. Having said that Mrs Thatcher used to sometimes wear red I always thought with her that was the power thing like nowadays the red tie is considered symbol of power.

Thank you, Ohio and snugs. The photo that I copied, of course, is one of all our favorite photographs of President Reagan.
snugs, as big a fan of Vice President Cheney as you are, you might like the one below, also done about the same time. Just haven't been back to the drawing board in the last few years. He has the cutest smile and gets that twinkle in his eye, and his wife is adorable, too.

Oh, that's beautiful too, Billie! You've captured that little imp look in our VP! Would you mind terribly posting a couple of our President and First Lady too?? Instead of posting them again, let me give you a link to the Finest thread I did early on when I didn't have anything else to post, and they're all on it, ok? I hate to keep posting them, but remembered the one of the Cheneys and how much snugs loves them!
Thanks, Ohio!

Creative Connections
God said, "Let Us make man in Our image." Genesis 1:26
I built my first racecar for less than $15. With band-saw precision and painstaking effort, I carved a solid rectangular block of pine into an impressive aerodynamic package.
My 9-year-old son painted the finished product French blue. I polished the axles to a mirrored shine. Together we detailed the body with fiery decals and dubbed our Pinewood Derby entry "The Flaming Speeder." The look on my son's face was priceless.
No sense of accomplishment can match that of a parent who creates something with his child. It's a setting where both young and old can appreciate the joy of teamwork.
In the Bible we see God displaying delight in His creation. Genesis 1 records the crowning achievement of this divine creative process. "So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them" (v.27). Then God charged mankind with this task: "The Lord God took the man and put him in the garden of Eden to tend and keep it" (2:15).
Like a father with his child, God takes joy in a partnership with us. As the perfect triune Being, He could have chosen to work alone, but He didn't. He created us in His image, and He delights in our creativity. Dale Beaver

Thanks, Luv. At the time I did all those drawings, I wasn't involved with a daily thread, and just haven't taken the time to do one in a few years now. :)
