"Wear Red" Friday
You will soon see a lot of people wearing Red on Fridays. Here's why..... The Americans, who support our troops, are the silent majority. We are not "organized" to reflect who we are, or to reflect what our opinions are. Many Americans, like yourself, and all their friends, simply want to recognize that Americans support our troops. Our idea of showing our solidarity and support for our troops is starting Friday and continuing on each and every Friday, until this is over, that every red-blooded American who supports our young men and women, WEAR SOMETHING RED.
Word of mouth, press, TV -- let's see if we can make the United States, on any given Friday, a sea of red much like a home football game at a University. If every one of our memberships share this with other acquaintances, fellow workers, friends, and neighbors, I guarantee that it will not be long before the USA will be covered in RED - and make our troops know there are many people thinking of their well-being. You will feel better all day Friday when you wear Red! So let's get the word out and lead by example; wear RED on Fridays.
SUPPORT OUR TROOPS! WE LIVE IN THE LAND OF THE FREE, BECAUSE OF THE BRAVE. FOR US, THEIR BLOOD RUNS RED!! GOD BLESS AMERICA.
I received this in my email June 10th, the author is unknown. I am wearing red today and every Friday ~ Billie

Movie Reviews for your weekend consideration:
Batman Begins
Well the cast is interesting. Michael Caine (the proper butler); Liam Neeson, no longer Schiendler, is a martial arts good/bad guy; Katie Holmes (recent convert to Scientology & Tom Cruises current Squeeze) plus the Batman star, Christian Bale, who is very easy on the eyes. Many of the character actors are my old favorites.. Tom Wilksonson, Gary Oldman, Rutger Hauer, Ken Watanabe.
A few twists along the way in a flick that shows childhood friends become adult friends with a chance for romance. A young boy traumatized by an terrifying encounter with bats & witnessing his parents murder grows up with both of those issues to face/resolve. Car chases, some violence, corruption in govt, Gotham (is it Manhattan?), good cops/bad cops.
I loved it but I also enjoyed all the other Batmans. This isnt a true series so if you havent seen the others, (as my date had NOT) you can still enjoy it. By having seen the others you have a few little comparative possibilities. I was never a fan of the comic books so those who were, will have reasons to like/not like the storyline for different reasons.

Dear Frankie
Set in the British Isles a charming story about a 9 year old deaf young boy who has been shielded with lies his entire life as him mom & grandma continually relocate. The reasons for the moves, the boys journey, the mom & grandmas issues all evolve in the movie. If you like a feasible story line, no violence, no skin & a relatively happy ending, you will enjoy this . I did .
The cast to me was basically unknowns except for Gerard Butler playing a significant roll.. and in the course of the movie I found my eyes water & and numerous laughs & chuckles come forth. I think those with sensitive and mature children will find their children will relate well to the interaction of the young (and very talented) young actor.

Crash
Okay, here is a rough one. Much skin, incredible blood & violence, a very complex story line to follow and a star studded cast doing it all very well. I have only seen this once but want to see it again to put together NUMEROUS loose ends. It is well done & gives one pause. If you are a romantic movie lover only .. DO NOT SEE THIS MOVIE. But if you want to see a very involved movie including the darker side of the reality of life, you will no doubt be rewarded here. Stars are Don Cheadle, Sandra Bullock, Jennifer Esposito, Brendan Fraser, Matt Dillon, Thadie Newton - all of whom I respect their work over the years.

Creative Connections
God said, "Let Us make man in Our image." Genesis 1:26
I built my first racecar for less than $15. With band-saw precision and painstaking effort, I carved a solid rectangular block of pine into an impressive aerodynamic package.
My 9-year-old son painted the finished product French blue. I polished the axles to a mirrored shine. Together we detailed the body with fiery decals and dubbed our Pinewood Derby entry "The Flaming Speeder." The look on my son's face was priceless.
No sense of accomplishment can match that of a parent who creates something with his child. It's a setting where both young and old can appreciate the joy of teamwork.
In the Bible we see God displaying delight in His creation. Genesis 1 records the crowning achievement of this divine creative process. "So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them" (v.27). Then God charged mankind with this task: "The Lord God took the man and put him in the garden of Eden to tend and keep it" (2:15).
Like a father with his child, God takes joy in a partnership with us. As the perfect triune Being, He could have chosen to work alone, but He didn't. He created us in His image, and He delights in our creativity. Dale Beaver
