"Won't happen Lum, here is why....(Ask Abner)"

I agree, I was being sarcastic

What makes you think he is giving credence to other gods.

According to the faith that GWB professes, there is only one God and that this Almighty God spoke originally to the jews, bringing His law to them. He then came in the person of Jesus to bring salvation to the jews first, then the gentiles. He requires exclusive worship and denies the existence of other gods. Worship of other gods, or the supposition of the existence of other gods is blasphemy and those that did so, records the bible, earned the severest punishments.

If this Almighty God speaks to the people of other religions it is to inform them that they need to repent of their false religions and false gods.

And if you think that the Christian's God and Allah are one in the same, then you are, without a doubt, blind to what they both teach.

As I stated in another post the concept that God has had an influence in other religions is nothing new.

I agree that it is nothing new, but it definately is not in accordance with the God of the bible.

Christianity might (I would disagree) be a load of crap, but at the least, lets have some intellectual honesty with regards to what the bible teaches.

Then you also must be wary of the World Council of Churches. I'm not only wary of it I know that their mission isn't the spreading of the Gospel.
You're right...more syncretism.

Granted that Christianity is the only true religion and as a Catholic I maintain that all the other Christian sects are heretical and theologically of no value. However, I can't put that belief into practice in a democracy and neither can Bush with his individual Christian sect. The belief that there are some truths in other religions is admittedly a cop out but you cannot justify the equal status of all religions under the law without establishing some theoretical justification. For a theist who believes in absolute morality you are led to one of two potential options. Either there is only one absolutely true religion all others being a corruption of the same or a completely foriegn novelty. Or, there is only one true religion, all others being merely a corruption of same or a completely foreign novelty which may or may not have some incidently true precepts.

The difference between these two is that in the first case there is no justification for the political equality of another religion from a theological point of view. Where as in the latter's case because they are only a corruption, or an example of incompleteness theologically, there is some validity to treating them politically equal.

The above, was your original question - and I answered it more than satisfactorily.

With regards to the equality and protection of other religions under the US Constitution, I am strongly for that, except where those religions might, in there practice, break some other law, or they are clearly immoral, i.e human sacrifice, or child molestation.

Regardsless of that equality, I state again, GWB risks offending his God by his speech,

"I believe there's an almighty god who speaks to different faiths -- and I believe freedom is a gift from that almighty."

If his Almighty God speaks to different faiths, it is only to tell them that Jesus Christ is the only true freedom. To leave that out is to tell half a truth and to confirm muslims in there false religions.

He may be PC, but he risks offending his God. Do you agree or disagree?

So there is absolutely not one truthful tenet in any other religion but Christianity? All truth comes from God so, if any other religion besides Christianity has an article of faith, doctrine, tradition, precept, or axiom which is any way true both from the Christian perspective and from human reason, where did it come from?

You are assuming that there is some bit of truth within each religion, and yet you cite no religion nor its basic truth.

I can't address what you don't ask.

Although I can say that the heaven's declare His glory and the firmament his handiwork. Also, that He has written His law in every person's heart - we all know right from wrong.

Everyone, in their soul, knows that God exists and knows right from wrong. We may deny Him intellectually or refuse to obey the moral conscience that He gave us. We might also seek to appease or to please Him apart from any revealed knowledge, thus creating a false god and a false religion.

According to the Book of Revelation, a one world religion is going to occur, whether or not you, I, or anyone else wants it to.

It is foretold in the Bible. If you believe that the Bible is God's word, then it isn't a "nut" conspiracy. It is just the truth.

Actually, no. You are speaking, not from the Bible, from from C. I. Scofield's footnotes thereon. Truly, the Scofield Reference Bible, and the dispensational system it birthed, was a master stroke for the Enemy of God and man. Within a generation, the majority of Bible-believing Christians also came to believe that God had ordained the failure of His gospel, and the global triumph of evil. You ahve to admit, turning Christians into cheerleaders for Satan's minions had to be one of the greatest propaganda feats of all time!
