The Steelers' Myron Cope has just announced his retirement.

This is very painful. This man is exceptional.

I'm listening to Myron now. He does not sound good. He still has his excellent senses about him, and it's sweet as he talks to Dan Rooney from Ireland.
This day hurts.

A big hmmm ha (and an okle dokle) to Myron.

I went to school in Pittsburgh so I became familiar with him while there. His voice however, always had the quality of fingernails sliding down the chalkboard.
Last year, my brother who lives in Cincinnati became a Steelers fan because of the QB, Roethesberger.
He sent me an email one day, after listening to some sports program originating from Pittsburgh and wanted to know 'what's with this guy Cope? Is he nuts? Where did they find him?'
How do you explain Cope to others? They just don't understand....

Yoy and Double Yoy! B-(
BTW, Myron Cope did write a book around 1970 or so about the early days of the NFL. I remember doing a book report on it back in junior high. It's not a good day here in "Da Burgh" although we all knew that Myron Cope had to hang up his cleats sometime. He doesn't sound good at all. B-(

He's a putz, IMHOI had to look that up to see what it really means. It said: "(Yiddish) a fool; an idiot"
Either you're drunk or you are a raving, flaming idiot yourself! Myron was a great writer and thinker, far, far from an idiot.
Change the medication, mf.

Look up the definition of "IMHO", while you're at it.

His voice however, always had the quality of fingernails sliding down the chalkboard. When I lived in the 'Burgh, his shtick always came across as an affectation. Time and distance have made him less annoying to me.
To: martin_fierro
............. not so "humble" when you say crap like that, just ill-advised.

I think I like Myron. The sound of his voice conjures up memories of Patriots AFC Championship victories.

I haven't lived in The 'Burgh since the mid 70's, but I can still remember like yesterday... "This is Myron Cope... ON SPORTS!"
Was that on KDKA?
No matter what his "voice" did to anyone's sensibilities, he's a 'Burgh icon!
