Don't get too excited. The purpose of the property tax cut is to increase funding for education, i.e. raise taxes. To diffuse opposition they raise hidden taxes while cutting a visible tax and sell it as a wash. The phrase, "Don't piss on my head and tell me it's raining" comes to mind.

Gov Good Hair is trying to pull out all the stops to get re-elected. And if he gets this property tax cut, he would get my vote. Otherwise, I will go for the tough grandma!

This is all smoke and mirrors without an appraisal cape. Right now property taxes are going thru the roof, because every years your home is being appraised at a higher value. Stealh tax increase and killing property owners in Texas. Perry tried and hopefully will try again to get an appraisal cap, that is what we in Texas need.
