That applies to ALL boats, no matter the size?
Why is posse such a bad word? People think it's like cowboy or something. Posse's were people helping the law.
I could make a case for why he acted that way, but I'd only be accused of defending Joran and I am not going there.
See ya Later, good people...sw
DJ, the father and son duo were gambling together earlier in the night. The father left to go home at around llpm and he and the son went home. The kid and the Dad supposedly went to bed but the the kid later snuck back out and went to the bar where Natalee was. That was where they met up. It was around lam that Natalee was seen leaving with Joran and the Kalpoe brothers in Deepaks car. After that the Alabama possee ended up at the VDS home and the father couldn't find the son. He called him on his cell phone and the kid said he was gambling at another place. When they got there (father and posse), the kid wasn't there. He phoned him again and the kid then said "Oh I'm back home now"!! (I think this is where the Kalpoe brothers came in, Joran quickly called them for another ride home). Then they ALL met up together and the father stepped in and started saying "Joran, this isn't America, YOU say NOTHING, and it went from there." The father was obnoxious according to Jug Twitty because Natalee's parents were desperate to find her. Her roommate notified the chaparones that Natalee had NOT returned to her room. That was the beginning of this HELL. You can see how sneaky that little VDSlut angel is can't you. First he lied about when and where he Last saw Natalee, then he lied when the father phoned him and asked him where he was, then he, knowing that everyone was coming to talk to him, hightailed it back home to try to evade the meeting at all". It was the persistence of the parents that kept this bunch up all night. That kid lied about where he was when the father first phoned him. He wasn't at the spot he said he was gambling. This is the kind of evidence that the Prosecution has against this kid PLUS all the surveillance and cell records and computer hard drives. Plus a rather Large amount of LIES!!
Found this over there (SM)

I just saw an EXCLUSIVE interview with Paul and Anita van der Sloot on Dutch television! Some interesting details...
- Paul van der Sloot is NOT a suspect anymore; he doesn't want the Dutch media to call him "Paul van der S.", he wants them to use his full last name.
- Paul doesn't want to see his family as the victim. Natalee's family is the victim. He hopes Natalee will be found.
- Anita thinks Natalee is still alive
- On why he was arrested: Paul told the POLICE that he picked up Joran at the Mc Donald's @11PM. But according to Natalee's family the first time they met Paul, Paul said he picked up Joran @4AM. There's also a version that says Paul picked up Joran AND Natalee @4AM. Not true, according to Paul. Natalee's family must misinterpretated his words.
- Natalee's family arrived in Aruba, went to the police office immediately. At 2AM, Paul was sleeping, Natalee's family went to the house of the Van der Sloots. Natalee's mother wants to speak with Joran. But Joran was not home (Paul didn't know that), he was at the casino. Father called son at his mobile. At 3AM Joran was home; Natalee's family interrogated him. Paul told him not to tell them the details, because he was not sure of their "status"/who they were. "You should tell the police what happened".
- Joran also lied to his parents (Holiday Inn story), according to Paul. But now they can explain the reason why he made up the Holiday Inn story, because he was "in panic", etc.
- Joran had sex with Natalee in the car, according to Paul ("vrijen").
- Joran met Natalee at the Holiday Inn. Joran was playing poker ("Free Poker tournament", or something). Natalee invited him to go to Carlos and Charlie's. Joran first didn't want to go.
- Paul IS a judge. A temporary judge. He knows the authorities very well. Paul van Straaten, Marianne Croes. It was very strange to see how his friends/ex-collegues arrested him.
- Paul admits his son is in big trouble, because he made up that Holiday Inn-story.
- Paul first had the idea that he convinced Natalee's mother that his family is not the "key".
- Paul first didn't want to do interviews, because he thinks the most important thing is to find Natalee. His family's problem is just a "side-issue". But now he feels he HAS to say something, because his name is in the American media all the time. He doesn't like the whol American media circus. He thinks the main-issue should be finding Natalee and finding the truth.
- Eh...I think that's a short summary of what he and Anita said in front of Nova cameras....
"The group then trouped together to the Casino, and Paul must have gone along to be there when they found Joran and questioned him. That was when Paul was telling Joran, from the getgo, to keep quiet, not to tell them anything."
I think I would be a little concerned if a posse showed up at my house at 3:00 in the am demanding my son. I guess if they took off to look for him, I would go along also. Incidentally, even if I knew my son was innocent beyond a shadow of a doubt I would tell him not to say a word which would be before I demanded they turn the spotlights off and get the hell off of my property.
Sean and Geraldo and Mark Fuhrman are talking about this right now on the radio. And it cleared it up for me. I was right that Paul told them to find Joran at the Casino, but when they got there, Joran was not there. So they phoned the home and said that Joran wasn't at the Casino, and Paul said, oh, he came home while you were looking for him. So they rushed back to the home, which is where they all confronted the father and son about Natalee. Geraldo just laid it out as it happened right at the start. I had it partly right and partly wrong.
van der sweat. You can call us liberals all you want, doesn't make it so. Why call us names at all? Who ever said we have to be fair and balanced? The trouble with the libs is they do it and then lie about having done it. Hell yeah, I think they're a bunch of kennedyesque spoiled brats about to get away with murder and if all we can do is call them urin (which is how people pronounce his name) and van der flop sweat, where's the harm? It's a little sophomoric, but who's getting hurt here, I ask you?
You reallly would tell a desperate mother, a really frightened and desperate mother, to get the hell off your property and you really would tell your innocent son not to say a word??
Tell me, you would do that.
Note: There is discussion from those translating that ("vrijen") does not necessarily mean sex. It can mean kissing etc.
I haven't followed this very closely so I am not sure of the timeline etc. I would think that if JVS was the last one to see her, his father probably knew that the police would be interested in talking to him, which might explain why he told him not to help search. Or....if his father knew that he had something to do with it.
After reading your post, I remembered hearing this and just thought I would pass it along...for what it is worth. Either way, it is probably a good thing that JVS didn't participate in the search, there seem to be enough problems with the investigation already.
Thanks. I just logged on
to Sean's show online.
In commercial right now.
VDS mother looks clueless to me. Like a woman who knows she has a 'player' husband, but wishes to ignore it, rather than address it. She wasn't on the island that night anyway, right?
"That applies to ALL boats, no matter the size?"
That's what I've been given to understand. They keep a log of what boats are in the water and what time.
Mark Fuhrman thinks there is a good chance that all guilty parties are going to walk in this "case". I agree. The whole thing was botched (purposefully) from the beginning. But if so, no one will ever wish to go to that little rat-hole of an island in the future.
Spectre said: "there's a huge piece of this puzzle missing that NONE of us have hit on. It's as tho we are being led in one direction, when it's really another. Strange"

When was the last real (murder) case that totally shocked everyone? Manson? Ted Bundy? Green River? Jeffrey Dahmer? Scott Peterson? Mark Hacking? O.J. Simpson?
Robert Chambers? Note that Shaundra Levy's killer has never been found. How does this compare?
FReepers I think Spectre is on to something. Organized crime underground?

See my post # 707 for the completely corrected series of events.
Your presuppositions, that he knew without doubt his son was innocent etc., are not a factual thing but a feeling you have if you had been him and these people showed up. I sympathize with the family trying to find the missing daughter, and following the lead they were given that this boy was last seen with her.
To each his own sympathies, but the differing sympathies are pretty revealing.

LOL. yeah, he's HOT. So hot he sweats.
No, mom was in Holland that night.
She didn't get home to Aruba until
Wednesday.
She just fell into the mess. Not a
clue as to all that had happened.
Here we go again. No, I would not say that to a desperate mother, I would say that to a vigilante stepfather and his five friends from Alabama and two policemen from Aruba who have probably been tipped pretty handsomely who decided to take matters into their own hands. What did the Twitty group expect to elicit from their hostile adventure to the VDS home? Did you want the VDS family to supply the noose? You bet, my son would not say a word especially to a group who would misconstrue every word from his mouth. There is every reason to believe that Joran killed this girl but to blame the mother and father is outrageous.
