WHHHAAATTT??? LOL!
Sorry I am late to the thread, MoJo.
2001 was a big year for me.
Started the year in Saudia Arabia. Went to Kuwait. Came back to Saudia Arabia and then back home to New Mexico.
I was with the 2nd Reconnnaissance Battalion, 2nd Marine Division, Operation Desert Shield / Storm.
My son was born on February 15th. I received the Red Cross notification the day before we went into combat in the ground war. I can still remember standing at my HUMWWV, writing my Op Order when the Battalion SGT Major gave it to me.
I saw him for the first time in May, when I returned.
A wild time and some pretty vivid memories.
Never too late. Glad you dropped by to share your "big year". Thanks, 2ndrecon, for your service to America. You do your son, and all of us proud.
