Oh, horrors...the only song in your list that I remember is from Bryan Adams...not a bad song, but...

Lesse, I was still on active duty, stationed at Ft. Huachuca, Arizona, and I vividly remember watching the air war unfold over Iraq the first time.

Favorite memory was having my first Zwiebelrostbraten at the Altes Spital in Stein bei Nurnburg Germany. That place is the best kept secret in the world.

Then there were the trips to Prague and Pilsen. I was happy to be home from Iraq and back in Katterbach, Germany. Old Ironsides.

In 1991 I joined the Navy, absolutely sure at the time that my Commander In Chief, the incredibly popular George HW Bush would be re-elected the next year.

1992 was NOT a good year.

Welcome to the Canteen!!
The reason we're here is to support our Troops, Veterans, and
their families.
We're not here to discuss regional aspects of America.
If more folks would travel outside of America, they'll find
that most folks don't give a rip whether you are a Yankee
or a Southerner. They'll see you for what you are--an American.

Let's keep that in mind before posting stuff to tick others off.

I was born in the South, raised outside of America, and came
back and raised a Yankee.

I like to think I can get along with anyone.

Let's keep a focus on why we're here.

This isn't to most of you on the ping list.

Just need to remind folks now and again about what's going on!
