Democrats Demand Apology From Rove

Where Were They When Durbin Called US Forces Nazis?

Karl Rove, the Republican's top political strategist, compared conservative and liberal reactions to the September 11 attacks, unleasing a rabid reaction from Democrats demanding an apology for what they claim was political exploitation of the September 11 attacks.

What Rove said was, "Conservatives saw the savagery of 9/11 in the attacks and prepared for war. Liberals saw the savagery of the 9/11 attacks and wanted to prepare indictments and offer therapy and understanding for our attackers."

Democratic senators from the three states that lost the most lives on Sept. 11 — New York, New Jersey and Connecticut — said Rove was seeking to "inject politics into this," saying his comments were "inaccurate," "inflammatory," "insulting" and "opportunistic."

Heavens to Betsy! Who would have expected the President's top political specialist to 'inject politics' into a speech! I am shocked! Shocked, I tell you.

While on the subject, I have a question about the whole 'injecting politics' thing. Is there a political party called 'liberal'? Are ALL liberals Democrats? (That should come as some surprise to those Democrats who claim to be middle of the road.)

Conversely, Howard Dean once stated he hated Republicans (not conservatives) and "everything they stand for."

None of these same senators had any words of condemnation for Democrat Dick Durbin when he equated the actions of US military forces to those of the Nazis or Khymer Rouge or when he compared Gitmo to a Soviet gulag.

Among the aggrieved Democrats was Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton of New York, who called Rove's words "particularly harmful and painful" and called on the Bush administration to "immediately repudiate" them.

However, when asked about Durbin's slander of our troops, the Democrat from New York had nothing to say. When it was a Republican who dared to criticize liberals by accurately characterizing their reponse to 9/11, she just couldn't shut up.

"I'm old enough to remember how deeply divided our country was in Vietnam," she said. "I never want to see that again."

During the Vietnam War, the division decried by Hillary Clinton was sponsored, promoted and advanced by liberals, including John Kerry and Mrs. Clinton herself.

This is the same Senator Clinton that said in a February, 2004 Washington speech that the women of Iraq were better off with Saddam in power.

"He was an equal opportunity oppressor," she said, conceding that he'd been a brutal despot, while finding him innocent of the (presumably more serious) offense of sexism. "But on paper, women had rights. ... As long as they stayed out of his way, they had considerable freedom of movement."

On paper, they had rights, in a dictatorship? "As long as they stayed out of his way?" And Hillary is demanding an apology for Rove's comments about liberals being soft on the war?

In the March 9, 2004 New York Sun, Tamara Chalabi — currently working on civil society projects in Iraq — noted that some of the Arab press had gleefully mentioned Mrs. Clinton's roseate version of women's rights under Saddam.

And the BBC quoted a headline of the Baghdad edition of Al-Sharq al-Awsat, a Saudi-owned newspaper: "Hillary Clinton: 'Iraqi women were better off under Saddam's reign.'"

Offering aid and comfort to the enemy is a hallmark of of the same liberals who are demanding an apology from Karl Rove now.

If Hillary is offended by Karl Rove's characterization of liberals as those who wanted to extend 'therapy and understanding' to the philosophy of the 9/11 terrorists, what did she mean when she said in another post 9/11 speech;

"Let's not leave an educational vacuum to be filled by religious extremists who go to families who have no other option and offer meals, housing and some form of education. If we are going to combat extremism then we must educate those very same children."

The hypocrisy is almost mind-boggling. Almost, but not quite. It is becoming much too commonplace to be unexpected. Indeed, it is so commonplace that for many Americans, it is almost invisible.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but, I don't think that Mr. Rove specifically said anything about Dims. It is my understanding that he said something about liberals.

In any case, Dims, shove it up your butts!

If they played the whole clip of Rove it would show he was talking about moveon and the gang that follows them.

And therein lay the problem for the Dems. Moveon.org, in their mind, is their funding arm and source of volunteer labor. When Rove attacked the MoveOn Morons, he attacked their people.

They should let this go - because keeping it alive is just another excuse for talk radio to re-run the dim/lib quotes, tapes etc. following 9/11.

Also reminds people that Bubba's admin definitely thought it was a law enforcement issue.

But if they were smart they wouldn't be libs.

The RATS are soooooo stupid it's really hard to fathom. Rove didn't even mention the democrats, but they all jumped up and screamed, "Hey, you're insulting commie rat traitors, and that's us!" They are proudly identifying themselves as terrorist-coddling anti-American leftist scum, and demanding Rove's head for telling the truth about them. This much stupidity in one place has obviously caused major brain damage in the RAT party.

This is good. Let's get Hillary on tape talking about how to fight terrotists with therapy and indictments. Let her criticize the guards at Gitmo. That'll help her appear so freakin' centrist.

Everytime I think the liberals have stooped to a new low, they find a way to go lower..These comments coming on top of a Supreme Court decision which directly threatens the property rights of Americans will prompt many people to stop worrying about terrorists outside our nation..Look within for the danger..It is hard to find the words to describe the vicious attacks on the very accurate remarks made by Mr. Rowe, an honest, skilled, dedicated true American and public servant, who seems to really love his country. The choosing of a scapegoat for one's own sins and wrongs is a tactic used by abusers of all kinds. Mr. Rove's statements were normal, clear and well known across this nation..Mr. Durbin's statements were very harmful and insulting to millions of REAL Americans who are NOT politicians.

RAT idiots are bringing even more attention to the fact that they are the anti-war party. Anyone who remains a deomcrat after the last 4 years needs a lobotomy.

Interesting picture of young Hillary. Standing next to her is Bernie Nussbaum, who as White house counsel destroyed evidence and sanitized Vince Foster's office after the "suicide".

People need to remember that their supervisor in the Watergate hearings, a very liberal Democrat, found them both so flagrantly dishonest that he recommended in writing that neither ever be considered for a position of trust in government.

Right. Rove is the mastermind, the political genius, and he does not go around potentially inflammatory comments about 9/11 for no reason at all, correct? Furthermore, he covered himself by singling out liberals, not Dems, which also suggests that Rove's statement was deliberate and calculated... Calculated to deflect the opposition's attention from what? I wonder what's up. Or maybe I'm reading too much into this, and he's just stirring the pot. Hmmm... Better go have another cup of coffee.

Why have the demoncrats spent the last several years proclaiming they are "progressives" or "centrists" or "moderates," anything except "liberal."

But everyone of them screams when a repub denigrates a "liberal."

If none of them are liberals why do they get so upset?
