As his final American revival meeting continued Saturday, a fragile Billy Graham (search) was met onstage by former President Clinton, who honored the evangelist, calling him "a man I love."
Clinton spoke briefly before Graham's sermon and recalled how the man known as America's pastor had refused to preach before a segregated audience in Arkansas decades ago when that state was in a bitter fight over school desegregation.
"I was just a little boy and I'll never forget it," said Clinton, who was joined by his wife, Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton (search). "I've loved him ever since. God bless you, friend."
Graham called the Clintons "wonderful friends" and "a great couple," quipping that the former president should become an evangelist and allow "his wife to run the country."
Graham, 86, then launched into a short sermon that was interupted by applause five times. Organizers estimated 80,000 people had come to the crusade at Flushing Meadows-Corona Park in Queens about 20,000 more than the opening night Friday. The rally ends Sunday.
The evangelist is suffering from fluid on the brain, prostate cancer and Parkinson's disease. He uses the walker due to a pelvic fracture and is largely confined to his home in Montreat, N.C. He had said previously that the rally "will be the last in America, I'm sure."

Well, how much of your results have you accomplished?
How many members have you told about God's love for us and our need to accept Jesus, repent of our sins and be baptized for the remission of those sins and walk with Jesus as the Saviour through life?
50 years of work and you discard all of it because of a statement made on the platform when aged 85 and ill.
So very easy to judge, so very easy to condemn, so very easy to find fault. Yet, as we are told, we will know them by their fruits.
And Billy Graham does not display the fruit that Satan would wish.
You might look at the beam in your eye instead of spending all your efforts on the imagined beam in a man who has reached over 210 million people for God. Maybe not the perfect message that you or I might have given - but just maybe, it was what God wanted given.
I sent a note to the Billy Graham Evangelistic Assn, suggesting they 1 - Announce that Graham's views are NOT their official position and 2- Send a letter asking the Clintons NOT to use his comments in any campaign commercial.

I know Billy suffers from brain-related disease and we all still love him for his life's work....but may God forgive him for his remarks.
Yes, I think we need to take BG's nature into account before criticizing him. I'm NOT thrilled with Bill & Hill's little caper.
no, she is a bigger fool than you!
I guess Billy Grahan was just being polite when he said of Clinton after the Monicagate story broke, "The ladies seem to go for him" (close paraphrase) all the while smirking, was just politenenss on Graham's part as well.
Oh, forgive me, I forgot. FV doesn't know how to converse.
