Russia has ordered an inquiry into a 16th century Jewish religious law to ascertain whether it constitutes racist incitement and anti-Russian material, a media report said. Russia’s state prosecutor has ordered an examination into ‘shulhan arukh’, a code of Jewish Halakhic law compiled in the 16th century, and a probe against a Jewish umbrella outfit in Russia for distributing a Russian translation of an abbreviation of the religious law.

The probe was launched after some 500 public figures, including members of the Nationalist Rodina Party, in a letter to the prosecutor’s office urged to outlaw the Jewish religion and all its organisations operating in Russia, daily Ha'aretz reported.

The affair being closely watched in Israel has raised concerns for the Jews of Russia, who have come under increased anti-semitic attacks recently, the report said.

See, that is my point - there is heavy anti Russian disnfo - trying to defend it does not mean I think Russia is perfect bu when the other side makes up stories like this one it seems that way. In any case from what I have read the Jewish people are experiancing a renewal in Russia and are free and protected.

Maybe, I've heard/read rumors. The 2nd in command of the Luftwaffe was half Jewish and that's a fact. Some 2% of Jews actively cooperated with the Nazis and some actually had positions. True, some of these guys were scientists who were "persuaded" to work rather then go to the camps. Even in the camps, the enforcers were often that 1% of the Jews (as with any race of people) who'd sell their mother out to save their skins.

Then there was skum like Georgie Soros and his brother who cooperated with the Nazis in Budapest and got to keep quite a bit of cash from the poor innocent Jews who were sent off to the death camps.

All societies have rotten bastards, the sad part is, Georgie Soros has risen high and far and is still just as evil.

The point is, the anti-semites were home along the Pale of Settlement, which was in central Ukraine. So happens that anti-semitism, especially with UNA-UNSO, the allies of Prime Minister Tomoshenko, are running rampant in Ukraine. Two months ago, a black American diplomat was severly beaten in Kiev. In Western Ukraine, Jewish churches are routinely vandalized. I just posted an article how a western Ukrainian hospital tore up an ancient Jewish cemetary to build a small park.

Not many people can see history unfolding before their eyes.

It is freaky. Ban Jews. Persecute Christians as hateful. It reminds me of the era shortly before WWII and Hitler invading Poland, when voices out of Germany and other places, even the US, warned of Hitler and prejudice against Jews (first and later others), but much of it fell on deaf ears. Not Hitler though, who exiled or jailed or had sent to the camps those who voiced dissent, even before he invaded Poland. Some of us see it and it is freaky. All the deaf ears, content to party with Nero while the city is set ablaze. And Dean's a nut. I wouldn't vote for him because he is a nut and not because I am a Christian woman.

When I first heard of this, I thought it was a joke, laughable at least, the work of a leftie nutjob kook outside the realm of the regular government or vowed antisemite, but it's the actual government and some of the regular people of Russia (who apparently are leftie nutty antisemites) behind it.

I have wonder how much support Iran's Shi'ite mullah régime has been offering homegrown & foreign jihadists in that war?

It's very interesting during the Nazi invasion of Stalin's Soviet Union one of the prime military objectives of the Germans was denied them, being the seizure of Groznyy and the near by oil fields supplying Stalin war efforts.
