'Today' OKs Gay Weddings Gay marriage may still be a subject of hot debate elsewhere in the country, but NBC's Today show has decided, with some outside prodding, where it stands: Same-sex vows are fine with them. For six years, the show has been running a series that offers an on-air wedding to couples willing to let viewers help select details down to the honeymoon location. One stipulation: This opportunity is open only to currently engaged couples consisting of a male and a female.
After inquiries from gay-rights activists and an article last week in The Advocate, the policy was changed at week's end. A Today spokeswoman explains that the show has always strived to have the winning couple get legally married on the show. Previous weddings had taken place in New York or Anguilla, where local laws bar gay marriages, but this year's contest is about hometown weddingswhich might take place where gay weddings are permitted, notably Massachusetts.

So you think animals that practice homosexuality are perverse as well? It's not a perversion, it's a defect in the genetic makeup of the animal. Darwinism takes care of natural selection by ensuring 'homosexual' animals do not breed and pass on their genetic material.

Animals don't possess the intelligence or reasoning capability that humans do, so that is an unfair comparison since they don't understand more than the bare basics of what they are doing. As a human being, you do.
Humanity survives because of procreation - you know, the penis in the vagina thing. I doubt we would have gotten very far if the only desire Adam had was to go around plugging the other guys anuses.

The behavior itself is not destructive, only the attitudes towards it. Ummm, AIDS, STDs, rampant drug and substance abuse. Shall I go on?

LOL! You're making a naturalists argument. Do you think humans should cannibalize each other like animals do?

I know that my very charitable and moral brother had no choice in his sexuality Funny. My gay brother doesn't believe the world has to change just to accommodate him. Guess my brother is nicer than yours.

You are dishonest if you want to talk facts. We all know homosexual (anal) sex is a very risky type of sex with very high tranmission rate for STDs and AIDS. Homosexuals tend to have more partners, many anonymous, often in conjunction with using hard drugs like crystal meth. Many have AIDS yet still continue to engage in destructive dangerous behavior. Many do so in a carefree militant manner.
Your argument that heterosexuals also do drugs and get AIDS is moot. Your premise that homosexuality is not destructive is ludicrous.

"Of course the most obvious is to provide a stable home for raising children"
Marraige itself doesn't provide stability without the two people in the marraige agreement being themselves moral stable people.
Marraige does not solve any problems.
If problems exist before the marriage, they will get worse after the marraige.
Legal unions are also prone to the same thing, but with the added 'benefit' of being 'temporary'.
And if something doesn't have permanence, then it can be thrown away like a used tissue for any and every reason.
Again, such things will only serve to help clog up the already insaen court system.

Are you proposing that if gays get married suddenly heterosexual men will want to start having anal sex with other men?
How did you make that assumption!? Your balls-out (pardon the pun) advocacy of gay marriage has apparently clouded your mind and is causing some confusion.
By the way, I have two very good male friends who are gay, and as I have said before, I don't care what they do in the privacy of their own home, as long as they don't start sticking it in my face. It's precisely that kind of mentality that is hurting public acceptance of gay rights, not helping it.

So you think animals that practice homosexuality are perverse as well? It's a shame you can't just accept that gays are acting on an inherent part of themselves The difference between man and animals is that ANY dog can boink any other dog but man is capable of thought and choice. Some humans just choose not to think and they act like the animal kingdom.
