It's all about the lips
What we have to realize is that the standards for the audiences of today have been lowered. TV fits the product put out by our school system. I did not know, and surprised a bit to know, that universities now rely on foreign student for pos-graduate work in the sciences. They don't even bother with the local product. How humiliating I think for the US. Companies also look elsewhere for talent. Oh well....
I'm only 37!

I don't blame the gubmint schools. First off, I failed senior year and had to go to summer school to graduate. Second, I learned how to read before kindergarten. Third, although I never learned a single thing worth knowing in school, I still managed to learn plenty on my own. In fact, asking schools to turn idiots into thinkers might be too much to ask of any institution. No, I blame ppl for being themselves. Well, I shouldn't say "blame." They're just as God made them, as am I. It's cultural. You can't be an idiot for all your waking hours, but somehow go to school and be a smart student? It doesn't work like that. Let's face it. There are a lot of idiots here. That's why foreigners come here to make it. The competition is light. Hell, I goof off 75% of the time on my job and get paid real good. You don't even have to try in this messed up country. Bottom line: the ratings don't lie. TV is for idiots.

"Someone needs to tell Greta to start ENUNCIATING her words and stop speaking with the Billy-Idol-esque sneer."
I don't care for her much, myself, but I was corrected (after making your same observation) that she has Bell's Palsey and that's why she appears to snear at us.
I think she's one smart cookie when it comes to lawyerin', but I can take her only in small doses, myself.
I'm so glad that Rita Crosby (?) is gone. That voice was nails on a chalkboard to me. *Shiver*
I'm with the poster that likes "The Beltway Boys."
Probably = DEFINATELY. There are many consumers of TV that eat up thesestories. I think it's easier to watch Greta than read a murder mystery. Face it, TV "news" is mostly entertainment.
Greta covers storys pretty straight without all the hyperbole and the ME! ME! ME! attitude. I think she has done a remarkable job in Aruba. People like whodunits and this is a big one. It also focuses on a legal system different from ours which is a real eye-opener.
I don't know if it is a symptom of Greta's Bell's palsy, but if you listen, she doesn't finish many of her words....she kind of slurs them together. Irritating.
Plus her voice is as irritating as fingers on a chalk board.
What's with her wearing the same shirt everyday???
I for one think Greta has been doing a great job covering this case. She has always been the best legal analyst on TV and now she is proving she is a great reporter too. I think one of the main reasons her reporting is being watched so much is because she truly shows respect for this case and the people involved with it.
