Freestar Media: "Lost Liberty Hotel" proposed on Justice Souter's land
Freestar Media ^ | Monday, June 27, 2005 | Logan Darrow Clements

Posted on 06/28/2005 3:40:00 AM PDT by Smile-n-Win

Weare, New Hampshire (PRWEB) Could a hotel be built on the land owned by Supreme Court Justice David H. Souter? A new ruling by the Supreme Court which was supported by Justice Souter himself itself might allow it. A private developer is seeking to use this very law to build a hotel on Souter's land.

Justice Souter's vote in the "Kelo vs. City of New London" decision allows city governments to take land from one private owner and give it to another if the government will generate greater tax revenue or other economic benefits when the land is developed by the new owner.

On Monday June 27, Logan Darrow Clements, faxed a request to Chip Meany the code enforcement officer of the Towne of Weare, New Hampshire seeking to start the application process to build a hotel on 34 Cilley Hill Road. This is the present location of Mr. Souter's home.

Clements, CEO of Freestar Media, LLC, points out that the City of Weare will certainly gain greater tax revenue and economic benefits with a hotel on 34 Cilley Hill Road than allowing Mr. Souter to own the land.

The proposed development, called "The Lost Liberty Hotel" will feature the "Just Desserts Café" and include a museum, open to the public, featuring a permanent exhibit on the loss of freedom in America. Instead of a Gideon's Bible each guest will receive a free copy of Ayn Rand's novel "Atlas Shrugged."

Clements indicated that the hotel must be built on this particular piece of land because it is a unique site being the home of someone largely responsible for destroying property rights for all Americans.

"This is not a prank" said Clements, "The Towne of Weare has five people on the Board of Selectmen. If three of them vote to use the power of eminent domain to take this land from Mr. Souter we can begin our hotel development."

Clements' plan is to raise investment capital from wealthy pro-liberty investors and draw up architectural plans. These plans would then be used to raise investment capital for the project. Clements hopes that regular customers of the hotel might include supporters of the Institute For Justice and participants in the Free State Project among others.

You have a good idea .. maybe we should do that to ALL OF THEM AND SEE HOW THEY RESPOND.

Great idea .. can you find out where all these homes are and maybe we can find people in each city to take the law to these people who think it's okay to take property away.

"This is not a prank" said Clements

Yes, it is. He needs a corporate entity in the development and construction business. A publishing company wouldn't be appropriate, and an individual would have no standing at all.

Souterland... A land where treason is legal and sedition is merely a talking point.. A land where BushBats live and Count Von Bushula bleeds the hell out the economy and a cross is an "X" that illegal aliens sign their ballots with..

A land far far away with voteing booths thats only far away if you don't have an SUV to get there in... A land where not securing your seat belt in that SUV, makes you a BAD PERSON..

A land that...... {snip}

Leon Methot, Vice-Chair lmethot@weare.nh.gov Term Expires - 2006
Heleen Kurk hkurk@weare.nh.gov Term Expires - 2007
Joseph Fiala jfiala@weare.nh.gov Term Expires - 2008
Donna Osborne dosborne@weare.nh.gov Term Expires - 2008

Here's the letter I just sent to one of their Selectmen:

Dear [Selectman]:

I understand that a developer, Mr. Logan Clements, has started the process with your city's Selectmen to discuss taking the property on 34 Cilley Hill Road in order to build a theme hotel there. My husband and I have been talking about taking a vacation to New Hampshire for years (we are on the West Coast, but he has family back east, so we could make a tour of it), and we would certainly be interested in staying in such an interesting and pertinent theme hotel as Mr. Clements proposes. I hope you will give due consideration to his plan. I'm sure it would be an asset to the area.

Yours sincerely,

xxx

At last! we finally get a chance to show them how it feels to be on the receiving end of the socialist decisions they render.

I just sent a message to Mr. Clements and will participate in any way I can.

This would be a good campaign issue in CT. Some conservative could run on the platform of re-condemming the land in question and giving it back to the original land owners in the name of the public good.

After all a public purpose is whatever a local politician says it is

With 20/20 hindsight conservatives should have filed this against each of the liberal members of the court. They would then have had to recuse themselves from the decision.

"I think it is exactly what should be done."

I agree. We need to get the leftists' land before they get our's. The winner of this land race will be the one who buys-sells faster.
