Yes indeed. No guns. No hair pulling. He just shows a judge what that 70 year old lady is going through. And he can make money doing it. LOTS of money.

I'm against them, too. I ain't against citizens LEGALLY defending their country. I love W but that was such an obviously political comment--if the MM were actual vigilanties, why wasn't he having them arrested?

I think there is a very good argument not for not paying property taxes, but that that the assessed value of your home used for calculation of the property taxes MUST be keyed in to what the government pays you if they take your house via eminent domain.

And I think there's a case for substantial reduction..."Gee, I could get $50k on the market when I'm ready to sell in ten years, but you schmoes could come in tomorrow and take it for $25, so, I guess $25k's the top value."

You're right. I'm a Dem who thinks this decision went wayyyyyyy too far. And I have many friends of the same persuasion who agree with me.

Here's the letter I just sent to one of their Selectmen:

Dear [Selectman]:

I understand that a developer, Mr. Logan Clements, has started the process with your city's Selectmen to discuss taking the property on 34 Cilley Hill Road in order to build a theme hotel there. My husband and I have been talking about taking a vacation to New Hampshire for years (we are on the West Coast, but he has family back east, so we could make a tour of it), and we would certainly be interested in staying in such an interesting and pertinent theme hotel as Mr. Clements proposes. I hope you will give due consideration to his plan. I'm sure it would be an asset to the area. Yours sincerely,

Er ... I believe that's the letter *I* originally drafted and sent to one of the Selectmen. I am flattered by your use of it, but may I suggest that instead of copying it directly, you use it to inspire your own individual email? I'm sure the Selectmen will not be impressed by a thousand carbon copies of one email. But if they receive a thousand ORIGINAL emails supporting the new Souter property hotel, they cannot fail to see that as interest from a thousand real potential customers ... and take notice!

Thanks, Hetty

I'm going to write them about my long-held desire to vacation and spend tourism dollars in Weare, NH, if only there were a liberty themed hotel for me to stay at.

I trust you'll take this opportunity to make those aloof decisions devised at "the hands of that eminent tribunal" a reality to those Justices by helping reveal to them that neither they are ever immune to decisions which erode Constitutional liberties.

Thank you. Your letter is magnificent. Our Founders would be proud. I pray they understand the power they can wield to help restore our Liberties.

I would like to be added to your ping list and would be willing to make a small contribution to help the "Lost Liberty project" along.

I hope this is not a joke, it would serve him right. The same thing should happen to the other justices that voted with him.

I have not seen the words

Schaudenfreude

yet

Let me be the first.

I'd make a commitment to an annual trip.

I want to book for opening week and if I can swing it the last week of September annually.

Bread slicing and wrapping machine was invented by Otto Frederick Rohwedder in 1928. It became popular in 1930 with the advent of Wonderbread.(You know, helps build strong bodies 8 ways. Red, yellow and blue balloons.)

BTW some say that Marco Polo had ice cream on one of is visits to China.

re: Clements' plan is to raise investment capital from wealthy pro-liberty investors and draw up architectural plans.)))

Why wealthy? Why not go public and sell stock? I want some shares in the Lost Liberty Hotel.

"I'm a Dem who thinks this decision went wayyyyyyy too far. And I have many friends of the same persuasion who agree with me."

I hope that you and your friends don't support a filibuster of conservative nominations to judgeships. If so, then you reap what you sow.
