Hmm. I like them.
I'm still trying to decipher the aesthetic statement he's making through that placement.

It might depend upon which painting it is.
You will not see any of my sketches here, mwuh-hah-hah-hah-haaaa!
I am impervious to fame!
/ end lame joke.
I like Klimt. I have a small print of 'The Kiss' hanging on the wall in my apartment. Gustav is a must have.
That's probably his most famous work.
Hmmm......above the toilet, huh?
He has friends who are into Dada and Die Brucke and all sorts of other avante-garde artistic movements.
In fact, one of them-who incorporates some of these type of designs into his own portraiture/collage-actually has an apartment that overlooks Greenwood Cemetery.
I suppose it's inspirational, in a peculiar sort of way.
:0)
Here's another of his (something about the simple line rendering of the mountains reminds me of Art Deco):
First and second, Cezanne. Third and seventh, Picasso. Sixth, Gauguin self-portrait. Last one, Matisse. Tenth, Degas or Manet--some self-portrait or portrait of a brother or friend. The others...?
Greater magnification of microscopes allowed greater understanding of the structural differences of cells in different types of tissues. These were new developments during his time and when Klimt saw the slides of these formations he was inspired to use those cell-patterns in creating the detailed "filigree" of his works. The patterns in the fabric of "The Kiss" replicate the cell formations of either the heart or the organs of the pelvic area, I can't remember which. So, those patterns have a reason and are not just random fields.
That's fascinating! I didn't know that. I find his art attractive for its colors and shapes and subjects.
It's like Mark Rothko on an acid trip.

My brother is the proud recipient of a very expensive-but not very pragmatic-BFA, so here's a brief selection from his artistic oeuvre.
LOL! (at "Only if I can eat your soul") I don't know what a BFA is because I'm a member of AAA: Americans Against Acronyms. Tell your bro I like his weird art.
I'll probably run into him eventually.
The last time I hung out with him was when my family and I ventured out of our little, cozy enclave for a Mother's Day celebration.
He lent me a DVD of the first season of Aqua Teen Hunger Force.
I'm presuming that he'll ultimately want it to be returned.

P.S. It actually stands for a Bachelor's of Fine Arts, a degree he picked up from SVA.
Heh, heh.
Sorry, I just couldn't resist.
:7)
I had a buddy that had a Maxim calendar over his.
To each his own.
Who is the nutcase artist?
