"In one night, the martyrs strode down a path of 100 years."

A reference to 9/11?

Or a warning of things to come for us.

Sad thing is we didn't even need to smack them hard, the Shah had them under his boot. We just needed to keep supporting our friends. The traitor Carter destabilized the whole world.

If there was one man in the world who did not deserve to live long and prosper, it was that evil old communist. He's pretty much as bad as the pig ararat as far as I'm concerned.

He had me fooled when I was a kid with the toothy grin, which turned into a snarl when things went bad, think National Malaise. Then he fooled me again with the Habitat for Humanity. Now I see him for what he is. A bitter old leninist on the scrap heap of history looking up at the legend of Ronaldus Magnus.

I've been wrong about so much in my life.

The administration is probably aware that it's too late to stop Iran from developing nuclear weapons. Today's news points out that most of the insurgents are from Saudi Arabia. Saudi Arabia will be a nuclear nation within five to ten years, if not sooner. If the Islamic Revolution is for real, I would venture that Ahmadinejad will foment a revolution in Saudi Arabia with the same ilk in Iraq right now.

I get the feeling we're stuck. Thanks to George Tenet's profound incompetency, we invaded the wrong country.

Iran's mullahs and their new scumbag president-select need to know one thing, GWB and Ariel Sharon have both publicly stated that they will NEVER allow Iran to develop nukes, not gonna happen. If the eurowussies and IAEA (joke) cannot convince Iran to stop their nuke development program, then either the US or Israel will stop it. Remember what the Israeli Air Force did to Saddam's nuke program in 1981.

This looks like the kind of guy that would beg for his own life if you put him in a beg-for-mercy head lock...

What a flippin wuss.

You and me both,,wrong about so many things.

I loved Jimmie when he came on the scene. I should have been warned by that "I am one of you" personae,,the walking down Penn Avenue afte rthe inauguration with Rosalyn in her cloth coat. And now I just detest him, that bitter American hating supercilious old skunk. God, he did more to hurt this country than any president I know.

And I loved Bill Clinton when he arrived on the scene, so handsome and young and my generation. And now I see he is the same depraved old America betraying toad.

And I didn't like Reagan when he started out. I saw him as a phoney actor with no brains.

I don't know how I could have been so wrong so much.

Israel would have attacked by now if it were feasible. It's pretty clear that Iran isn't building the bomb in someone's driveway. The components, labs, and other facilities are spread out across the country and well-fortified. It's not like Osirak. There's not much that Sharon can do unless his military can come up with a scenario where all the facilities can be hit at once, and that's just not possible unless we join them. At this point, however, we don't have any political capital left to accomplish that without starting Armageddon (assuming retaliation against Israel). There's also considerable concern that an attack on Tehran will encourage the Iranians to take back the disputed territory of southeastern Iraq which is flush with oil.

The most difficult aspect of this, politically, is that we cannot come out and label this guy a despot when the world thinks he was "democratically" elected. I can't remember myself ever being this pessimistic about our foreign policy goals, but if this guy is serious about his rhetoric, we're going to have to start assessing what losses we're willing to accept in order to protect the world from the Islamofascists. The traditional understanding of "world war" is just around the corner...

The second from left in both rows is not the same as the others if you ask me.

"What a flippin wuss."

Thanks, I have been thinking the same thing.

Look at his styled hair going back 25 years, with the turtleneck sweaters and stylish sport coats.

Do we have a pampered Jihadist Prince here?

Remember what the Israeli Air Force did to Saddam's nuke program in 1981.

It's not the same. Saddam put a giant target on his program by piling everything (including the kitchen sink) into one facility in one location. Iran did not make the same mistake.

How will we stop the program? Really, it's too late. Thank George Tenet (and Clinton)

We all wanted to be fooled about Carter. Everybody thought he was the right man at the right time, but as things unfolded then and in subsequent years it became apparent that he should not only not have ever been President, he should never have risen to a position of any national influence.

Look at how deep the skin folds are in those pictures and the others between the cheeks and the nose. There is a definite pattern throughout the years.

I say, that the Japanese population and many Germans were as fanatical as muslims are today.

Thoughtful analysis, but your analogy does injustice to the Germans and the Japs. They were (are) a cultured, civilized people. When the occupiers enforced order, the occupied rebuilt roads, infrastructure. The industrious locals took over reconstruction (sure the Marshall plan injected resources, but there were still German engineers, builders, etc).

These idiots have no skills, have no civilization. As occupiers today we have to protect them from each other -and- wipe their butts for them. They are no more than violent children and I keep falling back into a despair that maybe a tyrant like Hussein is all they deserve or understand.

Axis civilization was about at "Atlas Shrugged" Page 30ish.....Muslim civilization is like page 300ish if you get my drift.

Sooner or later we are going to have to face the truth. For many years Israel had, but now is wavering. There is no accomodation to be made with Islam.

Good point. I can just imagine what Israel's thinking about this speech. Idling the F15s indeed.

LG - this article declares as fact that Iran's new president was involved in the embassy hijacking.

He could be referring to 9/11 or something about Israel or something to come to both countries.

There was a lot of Jihadist Code in that remark.
