They are showing it again this afternoon. I'm recording it right now.
To: lunarbicep
Yeah... Jimmy Carter thought it was a waste of time.

Well, one parallel is that the Revolutionary War, more than any other war up until recently, has been the most bloody war we've fought. I think another parallel is that in some ways the Revolutionary War could have been avoided. It was an unnecessary war

this looks interesting too, upcoming on THC:
POWs of the American Revolution: Sunday, July 03 @ 4:30pm ET
A revelation of the shocking story of how thousands of patriots died in horrific conditions aboard British prison ships moored in New York's harbor during the American Revolution. The victims' bones are still being found, their shallow graves exposed on modern-day Brooklyn shores. Drawing on memoirs and letters written by these prison-ship martyrs, we recount the appalling conditions of everyday life in the men's words. The daily mortality rate ran as high as 80% in the sub-zero winter temperatures or stifling heat of summer. Leading US and British naval historians help interpret surviving documents and explain why this humanitarian disaster happened; an eminent surgical historian provides a medical perspective; a nutritionist sheds light on the gross inadequacies of the daily diet; and rare archive material and evocative reenactments bring to life this tragic episode in American history.

Sure. Why show it during the 4th of July weekend, when people would be more likely to watch it? It's like those jackwads who schedule "Tora Tora Tora" on the anniversary of D-Day, and then "The Longest Day" on Pearl Harbor Day. No effin' clue.

Small semantic gripe:
I prefer to use the description War for Independence, rather than The Revolutionary War. American liberty is not revolutionary.
To: Irontank
I haven't paid Carter any attention since he was attacked by the killer rabbit

American liberty is not revolutionary. Its not? The Constitution is not revolutionary; The Bill of Rights? Our braking away from Monarchy to a Representative form of Government, not Revolutionary? I Beg to differ.

As worthless an individual as Bill Clinton is/was... Jimmy Carter was our nations worst president.
So many of our current problems in the middle east were CREATED by this 'wannabe' southern preacher. His indeciveness and self-guilt made America a 'paper-tiger'... and his party carries on with his tradition.

I have this series. There are a few misrepresentations, but over all it is very good. Closed to the beginning a former NATO commander compares Minutemen firing on British troops to our current National Guard firing on the active duty military today. Thats total crap!

How did Carter EVER get elected to anything? His thinking is as deep as a reflection in the water.
