Can someone ping the NC list?

I had to miss the open house this year, but my wife has informed me we WILL be there for Darryl Worley and fireworks. Anyone up for lunch beforehand?

Motorists who plan on joining Fort Bragg’s “Operation Celebrate Freedom” this 3rd and 4th of July are advised of the following changes to traffic patterns, parking and access control:

July 3rd and 4th, the access control points on All American Freeway at Gruber Road and Reilly Road will be open to DoD identification card holders from 1 p.m. until 9:45 p.m. All other access control points will operate on a weekday schedule both days.

Parking at Womack Army Medical Center is restricted to vehicles with DoD decals. Handicapped parking is in the vicinity of the Main Post Chapel on Macomb and Reilly Streets. All other parking is on a first-come, first served basis. Traffic in and around the vicinity of the Polo Field to Knox Street will be restricted in order to provide a safe area to launch the fireworks on July 4th. To support a safe and efficient egress of traffic at the conclusion of the fireworks on July 4th, law enforcement officers will direct vehicles exiting parking lots to main exit routes.

For additional information, call SFC Matthews at 391-4401.

I'm going to be headed for Bragg about 2 or 2:30 so as to get a good place to set up and enjoy the afternoon. I love going out there for the 4th. I enjoy just watching some of the young families with their children as it gradually gets dark. It reminds me of a Norman Rockwell painting. Darryl Worley will be great. This will be his 3rd time here for the 4th.

I just saw your post saying that you will be out at Bragg today. I'll keep an eye out for you. My shirt says "Land of the Free.......Thanks to the Brave." Maybe we'll see you.

Dang it, sorry we all missed you...I had to work this morning and it was pandemonium 'round here getting ready to go... I didn't even get to check this 'puter before we left.

We just got home and the kids HAVE to go to bed, but I hope y'all had a great time as well.

dstarr we've got to put together the CFRCFR (Cape Fear Chapter of Concerned Free Republicans or some such nonsense) and meet regularly. I don't know about you, but at this point I can only be effective in my own back yard.

It would be nice to round up the Freepers in this area and see how many we have. I know of two others besides you and me. I'm sure we could interest some local lurkers too. My mother is one of them. I think there are more of us than we realize.

I got home sometime after 11:30. We just sat and waited for most of the traffic to clear out. It's always like that so we're used to it.

It was kind of funny that once the fireworks were over, the storm went away. I had fun listening to the band and the singers. Darryl Worley was great as usual. We were over in what we called "Tent City" with a tent and large beach umbrella but went over to "Chair and Blanket Land" to hear him. We all did have a great time too.
