sorry to hear that.......I however, still hold respect for you, and hold you in my prayers
It is a society for mutual protection due to "do as I say, not as I do" activities.
sorry, I dont play that game - youre painting with a broad brush, and it's totally off topic
Prove that God doesn't "reprocess" Hindus and others eventually.
This is Gods word - not mans
John 3:16 "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. 18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God's one and only Son. 19 This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but men loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. 20 Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that his deeds will be exposed. 21 But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what he has done has been done through God."
Eternity is a long time. The Bible doesn't cover a lot of topics that are nevertheless part of Creation. I just don't think all of God's secrets are in print.
I respectfully disagree
His Mercy is larger than the human mind, so I don't expect Him to divulge eveything to us wee ones.
I'd agree with those sentiments, though I would not take them to the nonscriptural end that you arrive at.
I'd challenge you to reconsider joining a body of believers, as the Church is the bride of Christ. Not all Churches are bad, nor are all Pastors bad. What Im hearing is common to what pervades society nowdays. That being the notion that as long as someone lives a clean life and believes in a supreme deity that God will accomodate that diversity and excuse the fact that His gift to us (in Christ) has been largely ignored or glossed over as not to offend other belief systems
There is exceptionally good evidence that reincarnation happens. There is good evidence for evolution as well. I gave up trying to look into God's Tool Box a long time ago. I'm having too much trouble with my own.
Isnt that part of the problem - youre focusing on your own tools rather than Gods to solve your problems - and to that end - there will be no lasting works, except those done in Faith and Love of the Father who created you, and His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, who bridges that gap in our relationship with the Father....God of Gods - King of Kings
Christian Scriptures - The Word of God
LOL - yeah - I got that -
I don't know if you know this or not, the Norden doesn't have an LCD screen or a keyboard/mouse.
well aware of that
aside - Id be interested in hearing about skylab and your involvement in aerospace -
Couldn't even make it through to the second sentence?
"...were it not for 6-year-old James Leininger."
You mean, he will sound like a bleeting sheep when he says it?
Poor kid.
And my brother believes he was a casualty at Iwo Jima (no doubt spurred on after watching 'Sands Of Iwo Jima when he was a kid).
I do believe in the phenomena of false (implanted) memories, and spirit communication with discarnate souls....
Only the problem is this phenomena is demonic in nature, subtly suggested in the first place to deceive, confuse, and undermine biblical authority which states, "It is appointed unto man once to die, and after this the judgement." (Hebrews 9:27)
"Christian Scriptures - The Word of God"
Again, with all due respect, according to Christians. Others have a different view, which I'm sure they believe just as strongly as you do.
I guess we'll all know for certain, one way or another, once we've shirked our mortal coil.
Dr. Peter Proud is a college professor in a California college. He begins to have recurring dreams about a past life he once lived. These dreams play over and over in his mind while sleeping. The same people, places, & details like cars, bridges, homes and such. One horrifying dream is of a man killed by a woman in a rowboat. The man keeps repeating "Marcia don't!" Who is this mystery woman? Peter Proud then seeks medical treatment for "phantom" ailments, and goes to a "sleep lab" to try to decipher his dreams. But they aren't registering as dreams, actually they aren't registering at all! What to do? One evening while relaxing with a martini & television, some of his "visions" play out before him on a local documentary "America Past & Present". He sees the arch & the church that have been haunting him in his dreams! He calls the TV station, and tries to find out where this place is. All he can find out is it's in Massachusetts. From this point he & his girl friend Nora Hayes are on a plane to the East Coast to find out who he was. Once in Massachusetts the couple drive from town to town. They are unsuccessful until they get to Springfield Mass. Then Peter Proud starts to see familiar sites that have haunted him. The bridge, the church, the Puritan statue, and more. He continues his search alone in Springfield, finally locating the mystery woman's home(Margot Kidder as Marcia), and befriending the woman's daughter at a local country club. It is from here that the story really heats up. The woman is suspicious of this young man. Why is he here, and how does he know so much? The daughter (Jennifer O'Neill) and Peter Proud, fall in love. But this is a love that has its drawbacks. How can Peter Proud fall ethically in love with this woman, given his dream? The ending is almost the same as the beginning as Peter Proud comes full circle.
I respectfully disagree
The Bible does not cover physics, math, electronics, and a host of other topics coupled to Creation. So perhaps you don't agree that eternity is a long time.
you're painting with a broad brush, and it's totally off topic
Not off topic: you billed yourself as an expert on the Nature of God. We're all too small for that.
John 3:16+
Scripture makes no exclusions about not getting additional chances. I just don't think I am qualified to containerize God's power or scope of love to fit my interpretation of anything. I don't think you are, either.
This is Gods word - not mans
God inspired it, men wrote it, others translated it. Men always have an agenda. I found that the clergy especially has an agenda.
I forgot to mention that the Norden is 100% mechanical (gyros and clockworks) that connects electrically to the plane's autopilot. No "von Neumann" engine.
More on topic: I was born into the LCMS, and my father as his father before him was a Lutheran pastor. Lutherans are heavy on the doctrine. I really don't see Scriptural content that excludes reincarnation. Many mainstream interpretations seem like "poetic license" to the way I read it. Theologians are "reaching" much of the time.
"But professor Paul Kurtz of the State University of New York at Buffalo, who heads an organization that investigates claims of the paranormal, says he thinks the parents are "self-deceived."
"They're fascinated by the mysterious and they built up a fairy tale," he said."
Chances are this guy doesn't believe in God, Angels or anything he can't see and touch and measure with his hands or some instrument.
This is a very strange world and the possibility of re-incarnation or something which works like re-incarnation is certainly a possibility. This is not the first story like this to hit the headlines. It has been going on for centuries.
If you believe in a God and that man has an immortal soul, then reincarnation, ghosts, angels and devils are not all that far-fetched. Unless of course you are an atheist, agnostic, or feel-good Christian who questions even the Resurrection.
Cr@p. My 3 year old is fascinated with vaccuum cleaners and lawn mowers. I guess that means he was a janitor or a grounds keeper in a past life...
Can your three year old provide correct mechanical names for all of the parts? That is the difference.
I've got you beat. Three of my wife's cats are the reincarnated members of a small, furry, and particularly lazy species of hippopotamuses until now unknown to science.
Hebrews 9:27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment.
"Put the kid in an actual F4U Cockpit and watch his intimate knowledge go out the door. Anyone can know outside details. Only a pilot could know the intimate details of the cockpit that your life depended on.
Small things, the feel of the trim controls, the gauges, airspeeds for approach. All that they wont show on TV. All that I guarantee the kid wont know."
Nope, the parents have that angle covered. "The older he gets, the less he remembers..." LOL! Yeah, right!
I've heard the same story told about a young boy in the North of England who believed he was a German bomber.
Agreed.
