As are all unknowns to some.
I liked the story.
Well there's your problem right there.
What are you suggesting?
We know He does not make mistakes
Does Jesus ever state this, and if so where? Would a merciful God offer some a second chance to believe? What if a person was never exposed to Jesus, does not the bible say all will get a chance to believe?
How high does the cedar grow?
Yeah, I know a few like that. A devil behind every tree, a demon in every flying saucer.
Burn them at the stake!
Always demonic? Then why .."Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are of God" (1 John 4:1).
First off, the Navy gave the Corsairs to the Marines because they couldn't land the big prop/big nosed plane safely on a carrier deck--they fiqured it out later. But these were flown mainly by Marines! Geez--if you're gonna make up a story, make sure you're using the right aircraft next time.
Re: kid playing with a Norden bombsight.
Kids can figure out stuff a lot easier than some people these days expect. Yet in the current ejumacation system, everything needs to be spoon fed to them from the certified "trainer" teacher. Any kid who figures out how something works on his own, either by playing around with it or reading on his own is considered dangerous and needs to be put on Ritalin. The mentality continues on past the ejumaction system and into the corporate workplace. I have run into engineers with years of experience hit a wall when looking at certain problems or applications due to the excuse that they have "never been trained for it" or "it was never covered in class". Even worse are managers with HR mentalities telling engineers that they can't do certain things because "they haven't been officially train for such scopes." If that was the case, I would not be working with programmable logic controllers, since I have never been officially trained on them, just figured them out by reading the manual, and relying on the basic engineering courses which provide the foundation to think.
All this stuff is the end result of the ejumacation system (highly manifested in publik skoolz), which has little to do with real education. Kids, especially at that age, can be extremely fast learners, due to IMHO the brains still developing. They should be encouraged to learn and explore, with of course proper moral and spiritual direction (which can NOT be over-emphasized!). BTW I am not referring to bogus things like "whole language" and "fuzzy math". I'm willing to bet that's probably the way to reduce cases of ADHD (yes, there are the legit reasons of brain chemistry, but most IMHO cases are really due to the kid being boored silly due to being held back. I have some neighbors who are public school teachers - the good ones - who actually agree with this assesment).
Barring getting the info from outside sources like "Discovery-Wings", instead of "re-incarnation" I would suspect "familiar spirits."
This is true. My little bombardier figures out mechanical stuff quickly all of the time. He is one of those guys that if you want to keep the clock in one piece, you'd better hide it.
What made this a curious event is the way he walked past the radio operator's seat (packed with radio gear), past the flight engineer's seat (packed with gobs of switches, levers and dials), past the pilot and copilot seats (obvious places of interest for my kids), and straight into the bombardier's position. Then he unfolded the seat that that was tucked away in the metal framework, sat down, looked through the sight, and while still looking through the sight, turned knobs on the FRONT of the housing. It was the graceful movements associated with familiarity that looked unusual.
Am I preaching reincarnation? No. I was just accounting my own personal story that supports the original story. There are numerous documented cases that support reincarnation far better than the examples we discuss. My little guy is very bright; and, he surprises us a lot in other ways. The easy explanation in this case is simply that the functionality of that equipment was obvious to him. It sure is to me.
"Cr@p. My 3 year old is fascinated with vaccuum cleaners and lawn mowers. I guess that means he was a janitor or a grounds keeper in a past life..."
LOLOLOLOL!!! An instant classic!! Thanks for a good laugh!!
ROTFPMP!!!!
You are my new Favorite FReeper!!
Does Jesus ever state this, and if so where?
Matthew 5:48 Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect.
Those are the words of Christ himself
there are a number of Old Testament examples as well
really, - I merely identified myself as a Pastor - It's you, with your distrust of clergy who made that willful leap
Scripture makes no exclusions about not getting additional
safe to say you were pew warming on Sundays - because youve totally ignored Hebrews 9:27 Just as man is destined to die once, and after that to face judgment, 28so Christ was sacrificed once to take away the sins of many people; and he will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who are waiting for him.
God inspired it, men wrote it, others translated it. Men always have an agenda.
congrats - now youve blended three religions - Krishna, Hinduism, and with this staement, Mormonism
I found that the clergy especially has an agenda.
Usually to correct errant doctrine
Youre plainly argumentative, so if you must have the last word as I am abandoning the thread
Blessings upon you
