A Pub??!!! Heck, MadIvan, with the crowd you are "inviting" you are going to need to host a block party next to the local brewery. ;^)

I believe the French are waking up to Chirac's incompetence...outright hostility to him is definitely more in the open. One thing I've noticed is that there are more French people living in Britain than ever before...mostly because they can actually find jobs here, unlike in their own country.

even though it would have been nice, it makes my day that hillary beast will not get the credit. I think I would have been sick until 2012 to see and hear how it was her and bill's being loved and admired around the world that n.y was chosen LOL

Chirac's pain is a joy to behold.

I agree. He's been getting back in spades. It's wonderful.

I was against us winning the Olympics on the basis of cost, until Chirac threw his personal prestige into Paris' bid. I will gladly pay higher taxes to see his political power reduced to ashes, as this has.

I just liked it that the British held their celebration in Trafalgar Square. ;)

Now instead of the summer games, the Frenchies will have to be satisfied with taking their usual extended vacations and leaving their elders at home to die in the heat.

Let's invite our Australian friends as well.

Well, I thought of them, too....and they're nice folks and put on a great show in Sydney.....but....but....they'll drink all the beer!!

There isn't enough beer in Europe to slake the Australians and the Canadians!

We won't get any! We'll have to drink....<shudder>....champagne! ;)

There's a chance. I believe Lord Coe knows what he's doing. If Red Ken can be bound and gagged and left in a basement somewhere, we'll be all right.

Chirac was emblematic of this attitude.

Of course, President Chirac whining about the English and the Finns probably did in the Paris bid. I can almost put up money at a Ladbrokes betting parlour in London that the Finnish and Estonian votes were crucial in London winning the bid.
