BLAST AT CITY TUBE STATION - FOUR BOMB EXPLOSIONS AROUND LONDON
Sky News ^ | July 7, 2005

Posted on 07/07/2005 1:45:13 AM PDT by RWR8189

There has been an explosion at Aldgate East underground station in London, causing the closure of the entire Tube network.

There are also reports that a second incident took place at Edgware Road station in north west London.

The Aldgate East blast was caused by "some kind of power surge", according to Tube infrastructure company Metronet, which is responsible for maintaining the Metropolitan line.

A spokesman said: "We don't know the extent of the problem yet."

A London Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: "We have just sent some resources out to the scene."

British Transport Police confirmed that there are "walking wounded" and said paramedics have responded to one report of a person classed as "life at risk".

"It's chaos, with people trying to work out what has happened," said a spokesman.

"All we know at the moment is that staff reported a loud bang at 8.49am. No one is sure what caused an explosion, but it is thought it could have been a collision, a power cut, or a power cable problem."

One witness said the packed underground train he was on was 200 metres from Kings Cross when there was a huge flash.

The train stopped and people were using umberellas to smash windows of the trains. Passengers were led out of the train by underground staff.

He added people were milling around Kings Cross covered in soot.

Yes, they were due to leave tomorrow. Some were planning to come home and others were planning to continue their tour. My son was to go on to Spain, but was having second thoughts. He was thinking of going to Scotland to visit a friend, instead. It is so expensive in Europe, especially London, that it was difficult financially. We were hoping that he would just come home, but we haven't heard what his plans are. It's driving me crazy.

You have got that right---

I was SO glad to hear Bennett say that...he is such a soft-spoken man on his radio talk show, but he sure doesn't mind telling it like it is...

I cannot believe that Alan and the dems are, today of all days, STILL are complaining about going into Iraq...

Did you hear Alan ask Weasly Clark, who was talking about London's terrorist attack today like IT was a police investigation, if when the London police catch the "criminals" that did this, should they be treated like we treat detainees in Gitmo....or should they be talked to nicely?......blech

The military facts are that we could win in Iraq with no allies at all.

That doesn't diminish the wonderful work our allies have done, nor the benefit of having them at our side, but militarily, we could have done this without them.

Well, now, you might just have stumbled onto something....

Larry, Moe, and Curly? LOL

After reading last night that 20th Century Fox Corporation is a big contributor to Move America Forward (I think)---the really leftist organization like MOVEON.ORG, I realized why Fox hired Weasley Clark....

Rupert Murdoch is a lib!!! and he HAS to put some people on his network that echoes his lib philosophy!

A certain website that cannot be quoted here claims one of the London bombers was just released from Gitmo.

Jesse Jackson just said we don't know who attacked in London--

That was pretty straight forward, wasn't it? LOL

They're around. Check my bookmarks, as I'm not sure what's there. If not, let me know and I'll get them to you.

Yes. . .but Fur was asking rhetorically if we would have done so without political support, not military support.

Of course, militarily, we would be just fine without coalition forces.

I refuse to get caught up in the kind of hysteria that you have obviously been swept away with. So it was a (possibly) muslim woman traveling alone. Whoopty doggone-doo.

Make sure you check under your bed tonight for the boogey-man.

You definitely raised him right.

Ye didn't require much raising. He always seemed to make good choices so my job was quite easy.

I don't believe in evolution. But if I did, I have to ask, why are the stupid and the weak (Liberals in our country for example) still here? Shouldn't they have been weeded out through natural selection long ago?

All they are doing is proving why they keep getting their butts kicked election after election.

Good on you and your son. Prayers and thanks from a grateful American.

Joining you in the prayers and thanks. My son is a self made person and always seemed to know what was the right thing to do. I had the easy part.

My goodness, Fox made O'Reilly come home from Ireland, and Van Sustern come home from Aruba...dang!

Did ya'll just hear Jesse Jackson say that President Bush should nominate a Hispanic to the SCOTUS? That is just TOO funny on so many counts...

First, why Hispanic, not black? (Janice Rogers Brown?)

Also, with the big mess that happened at the first of this week, when Mexico put out a whole new stamp series featuring cartoon characters that are of black people with exaggerated features....WHY would Jesse be pushing for a Hispanic nominee?

Has Jesse turned brown? Who has paid him to change skin colors?

He is so darn transparent.

I stand corrected. Actually, it was in a post to me that he asked that question.......

(Although I believe we could have done it politically alone as well. I'm not sure how much more political support we've gotten because of GB. It's more likely that Blair has just gotten more flak because he supported us, not that his support has helped us.........politically speaking, that is).
