London bombs: More attacks possible as terrorists still at large, warns expert
AKi ^ | 2005 Jul 7

Canberra, 7 July (AKI) - Terrorists that carried out the multiple blasts that hit London's transport system on Thursday morning could conduct further attacks in the near future unless they are captured, according to a leading al-Qaeda and terrorism expert, Rohan Gunaratna. "If the cell that perpetuated these attacks is not neutralised, there is likely to be another attack in the coming days," said Gunaratna, the head of Singapore's International Center for Political Violence and Terrorism Research in an interview with Adnkronos International (AKI).

The coordinated and simultaneous manner in which the attacks were conducted, and the fact that they resulted in multiple fatalities, clearly indicated that the group that carried out the blasts was "a cell affiliated or inspired by al-Qaeda," Gunaratna said.

Speaking from the Australian capital Canberra, Gunaratna, who has closely studied the international al-Qaeda terrorist network, believes that it is very likely that the group will strike again because a study of the March 2004 Madrid train bombings, which killed 191 people, revealed there were other attempts by the al-Qaeda linked group, to conduct further blasts, following the train bombings. Those attempts were foiled by the authorities in the Spanish capital.

"This [Thursday's attacks in London] is not a suicide attack, so the terrorists are still free," said Gunaratna. "Unless they are identified and neutralised, there could be another attack soon," he said.

Some unconfirmed reports however suggest that a suicide bomber was involved in the blast on the London bus.

These so called good Muslims who live among you....have they come forward at any time to British authorities with information on their fellow Muslims who are part of the terrorists? Do they tell the British public if their cleric leaders are spewing hate and destruction during one of their sermons?

Problem is, you can't tell the difference and that's what going to get more people killed.

"Problem is, you can't tell the difference and that's what going to get more people killed."

On that I agree but what is the solution?

Should we walk round all the mosques in the UK and put bullets in the head of every man, woman and child who had read the Koran?

And if anyone is answering yes to the above then can you answer me this: When the IRA bombed Omagh killing as many people as died today - or Mortar bombed Heathrow or blew up canary wharf causing similar economic damage - should we have gone round every catholic church in the UK and shot every one of them pesky catholics? Should we just have nuked Dublin?

If anyone honestly answers yes to either then excuse me while I just thank God that we have George W. and Tony running the show and not you. Those guys know the score.

That is the key, thanks. This "report" is very dangerous. When will people realize that no single cell is responsible. It is a mindset that lives in all radical Muslims, they want us dead, period!

"These so called good Muslims who live among you....have they come forward at any time to British authorities with information on their fellow Muslims who are part of the terrorists?"

Of course they have. Terror cells in Slough, Manchester and London have all been cracked by our security services in the last year - the investigations in each coming from tip offs from local muslims.

I'm not going to begin to dispute that there may be a large number who turn a blind eye - but I'm not going to tar them all with that brush on the basis of their creed. I leave small mindedness like that to holocaust proponents.

"But we don't have to be mean to the regular Muslims who are on our side. At least not the ones who live next to us."

I respectfully disagree, I would think that moving this "good" Muslims back to their homeland in the middle east would be a excellent idea. Let them taste the lost of freedom and economic successful that their "brothers Muslims" have brought them and then maybe they will solve the radical Islam problem for us. Allowing them to continue to live in the West, while their "brothers" wage war on the West is frankly stupid. It only gives cover to the bad guys and does nothing to motivate the "goods" guys to help out.

Time to take the gloves off and begin mass deportations back to the middle east, good, bad and in between.

At last count, there were about 1.2 billion terrorists at large.

Deportation does not work. Send them to meet their 72 virgins.

I'll give Scotland yard a description of the terrorists - young, well educated, middle to upper class, arab and muslim - now go get them...!

AQ has been recruiting blonde-haired blue-eyed Muslims from Bosnia, precisely because they look Anglo enough to not arouse suspicion.

The violence of these acts, if they were carried out by Muslims, is just a manifestation of the violence of the racist colonialism being waged by the elite against their own peoples throughout the West. The terrorists who caused it are those terrorists who have made it illegal for native Britons to suggest that they have a right to continued existence.

To their credit, they thought it was stupid.

Stupid or evil? I wouldn't trust anyone who said it was less than evil. Stupid means it doesn't advance the agenda, evil means something altogether beyond that.

Yes let's not fight, and let's not win, let's just go quietly into the night.

What you PC types do not get is that it is Islam we are fighting not terrorists, terror is a tactic not an enemy, now your ancesstors would have known how to deal, and deal effectively with an Islamic enemy, but then they were men that knew how to make hard decsions and stick by them.

Also, the Irish analogy doesn't not work. (Comwell).

We'll I'm certain they're not the holocaust proponents you delude yourself they are. They just freed 16 odd million muslims in Iraq remember. And good job for it.

They hate Islamofasists and will show them no quarter. So do I and nor would I. But they're smart enough to know islamofasists are a sub-set of muslims. That appears to be your mental block. Osama and his chums love people like you who drive people into the islamofasist fold. You're doing his bidding.

"Yes let's not fight, and let's not win, let's just go quietly into the night. "

Who said anything about not fighting? The war should be invisible. Silent hit squads taking out the players without mercy. Not set piece gas chambers for all muslims that would seemingly make you happy.

"The Irish analogy doesn't not work."

"It doesn't not work" - I'll presume you didn't mean the double negative and are trying to disagree with me. I can't see why it doesn't work. We still have thousands of Catholics in Ireland who know and condone who did the Omagh bombing - why doesn't the analogy work?

I don't know how it works in Britain, but I see no way to 'neutralize' terrorism as long as we approach it as a criminal act. Police procedures to prevent or investigate the aftermath of an act of terrorism are weak because of the privileged politically correct status conferred upon Muslims. I don't know how the courts prosecute a suicide bomber. I don't know how we root out terrorist nests while protecting their enhanced civil liberties.

"Not set piece gas chambers for all muslims that would seemingly make you happy. "

And where the hell does that come from? I NEVER expressed any desire to indecriminately kill ANYONE. I favor deportation of non-citizen muslims back to the midlle east, that is a far cry from gas chambers.

If you can hold an honest discussion you are not worth talking too.
