London bombs: More attacks possible as terrorists still at large, warns expert

Canberra, 7 July (AKI) - Terrorists that carried out the multiple blasts that hit London's transport system on Thursday morning could conduct further attacks in the near future unless they are captured, according to a leading al-Qaeda and terrorism expert, Rohan Gunaratna. "If the cell that perpetuated these attacks is not neutralised, there is likely to be another attack in the coming days," said Gunaratna, the head of Singapore's International Center for Political Violence and Terrorism Research in an interview with Adnkronos International (AKI).

The coordinated and simultaneous manner in which the attacks were conducted, and the fact that they resulted in multiple fatalities, clearly indicated that the group that carried out the blasts was "a cell affiliated or inspired by al-Qaeda," Gunaratna said.

Speaking from the Australian capital Canberra, Gunaratna, who has closely studied the international al-Qaeda terrorist network, believes that it is very likely that the group will strike again because a study of the March 2004 Madrid train bombings, which killed 191 people, revealed there were other attempts by the al-Qaeda linked group, to conduct further blasts, following the train bombings. Those attempts were foiled by the authorities in the Spanish capital.

"This [Thursday's attacks in London] is not a suicide attack, so the terrorists are still free," said Gunaratna. "Unless they are identified and neutralised, there could be another attack soon," he said.

Some unconfirmed reports however suggest that a suicide bomber was involved in the blast on the London bus.

We spend lots of time examining Islam and its adherents, and we've learned that the super-fabulous, educated, patriotic, handsome, polite Muslims in your circle still will not denounce what happened today, ever, and certainly your equivalent of C.A.I.R won't.

We thus infer that there are no moral separation lines within Islam.

We don't all advocate Crusades II (only on days such as this), but you'll not convince a one of us to allow 'nice' muslims to be teased out of the murderous death cult for high-tea treatment. Many of us suspect them ALL.

I do not condone or support murder by the state, period.

I stated, clearly I thought, two very good reasons to mass deport deportable Muslims back to the middle east. 1) I removed the cover terrorist have, no large Islamic community to blend into, no blending in. 2) It would place a large number of partly civilized people into an uncivilized region and would tend to civilized that part of the world (middle east). I could go into greater detail but that's the short of it.

As you can see revenge, blood lust and hate have nothing to do with my reasons. Keeping the USA, UK and the west safe have everything to do with my reasons and if I am not mistaken I do believe Europe decided to do something very similar just the other day.

No showing the pictures of major terror attacks does not have to create a state of fear. In fact as horrific as the London attacks were today Londoners did not panic. Unfortunately many peole have very short memories and need frequent reminders of the danger we face.
