BUT, on the Main thread about the bombing, I was told by quite a few freepers that it was all an act by the Mayor, that he really is an anti-war communist...

Wow! I hadn't heard that. I was getting lunch and came back in the middle of his remarks, so I don't know if Rush mentioned that or not. If it was an act it was a pretty good one.

The key word here is that the imagined arrogance or ego is all part of his " Shtick " = style ( I hope I spelled it right ) .
Your right, if you have listened to him long enough, you know were he is coming from, it's all of a show, a game, it's his shtick.
If there is any arrogance, but, defiance is a better word to use here, is that the defiance he directs, he directs it towards the liberals/ democrats / leftist / America haters.
I have had people tell me, that Rush is such a blow hard, or he is full of himself, or that he likes to listen to himself, but, those people were not patient enough to sit, and listen to him everyday, for years, and understand his style.
I have heard him over the years, and have heard him sometimes in times when he was being humble, when he gives credit to GOD, he is being humble.
Even if most people can get around his perceived arrogance, or ego, what most don't like about him ( Libs/Gays/Fems/America haters ) is his message, his relentless message of conservatism, his message of America, the land that God has blessed.
Another thing that most people can't stand or like, is that he has " FUN " on his show, and some people are envious of him.

XM satellite radio carries streaming audio of Fox News. It's great.

My wife gave me a XM MyFi for our anniversary last week and I have yet to activate it.
I cannot ascertain if Rush is broadcast. Do you know if Rush can be picked up on XM?

I thank God EVERY day that we have the President we have right now. Sure, there are things I don't agree with him on but considering our other options, we dodged a bullet in 2004...or at least slowed our downfall for eight years.

That ego was a major turnoff for me for years until my husband convinced me that it was tongue in cheek.

I'm sure there is a big ego, but the comments are just putting on the show. But, he does have reason for the ego IMHO.

I have also been very impressed with the kindness and politeness to the callers - no matter how ridiculous they are.

With Rush and Sean we have two good warriors in our battle. Each have different talents but each are needed.

Me too....good deal is right. To think I use to have a little battery tape recorder and tape him while leaving my car on...while at work just to be able to listen to most of his show. Times have changed. :)

Like you said, if you listen to him long enough, you will hear his explanation. He does it just to razz liberals. Remember when he came back from his rehab? He was truly humbled by the overwhelming support he received from his fans. As well as a little embarrassed. It was awesome to hear.

I know! My husband can not stand to listen to him, he thinks that he is over the top. My co-workers are the same way, they all think that he rants and rants. I keep telling them that they need to listen to him. They all also think that politics is boring. They would fail

Not as far as I know. Here is a list of their news stations and here is a list of talk stations. If you click on a station it usually gives you their line-up. There is a channel called Ask! that is more or less another right leaning station. They carry Tony Snow and Mike Gallagher among others.
