speculation from York is that Fitzgerald either knows what Miller is hiding and needs her to verify it or that she's protecting herself (and the media) and thus cannot aford to testify (and thus give up the jig on the media's complicity in concocting this whole fraud).
Hugh Hewitt says that Miller's duplicity in these matters means she must have been the source.

Hugh comments there was a press expose recently on Air America that exposed all kinds of real important stuff that MoveOn.org could care less about yet Plame wasn't even a covert agent that could have been exposed.

Matthews and Gregory do that all the time. I stopped watching long ago because it was such a sleaze fest.
So Miller is writing for the NYT on issues of WMD.
Plame is working for the CIA as an analyst on issues of WMD.
We know Pincus and his wife have these elite media DC cocktail parties that Wilson and the little Mrs. have attended.
It can't be too far off the reservation to think that Miller and Plame had met at one of these parties and that Plame may even have been a source in the past for some of Miller's writings.
I say Miller's the leaker and the NYT knows it. They have her bundled up in jail as they try to hold on to their last shred of credibility with anybody anywhere in the world.

From what's been discussed on other threads - pointing out that Cooper is a scumbag liar who's married to the Clintonista hack spinmeister Mandy "Moustache" Grunwald, Hugh should disavow the 'serious reporter' comment ;)
Just an innocent question, but if these people are engaging in a massive fraud, why haven't they been indicted? (I can hope can't I?)

It would be interesting if it was Miller who told Scooter Libby about Plame. Libby said that he heard it from a journalist. Then Miller would have been her own source.
I thought I heard Hewitt say yesterday that he wasn't going to devote any time to this "silly story".
Miller is the leaker. She called Rove and asked his opinion about Plame recommending Wilson and then told him about Plame working for the CIA. Rove then passed this info on when asked by Cooper ie "Wilson's wife who "apparently works for the CIA".

And as far as leaking her name, it was on Wilson's own bio. Nobody had to leak her name. He did it for them in black and white.
You've made the assumption that Rove was her source. IF it was not Rove, the source may very well WANT her to protect.
Miller can't be the leaker because she doesn't work for the government. She received the leak.
But based on the rest of your post, I conclude that you believe that Plame outed herself. Going on the facts I know now, I cannot refute your conclusion.
It fits. In the past, Rove has asserted he discussed Plame with reporters only after she was outed. Either he was lying or, once he talked to Miller, he considered Plame outed.
One of the things I have wondered about during this latest brouhaha is the supposed "naming" of Wilson's wife. Rove talked about Wilson's wife, who worked at the Agency. Now most of us, if someone mentioned Wilson's wife, would be thinking of a Mrs. Wilson, or Valerie Wilson. You know, a "normal" marriage. We wouldn't be thinking in terms of Valerie Plame. So, unless you absolutely knew that Mrs. Wilson, was not "Mrs. Wilson", but Valerie Plame, the wife of Joe Wilson, you could not possibly "out" her! You would have to know for certain that Joe Wilson was married to Valerie Plame. I flatly ridicule the MSM reporters who assume that Karl Rove knew that much in detail about them. They weren't important enough.
i read that Wilson was tight with Kristof at NY Times along with Pincus at WaPo. Miller could have connected with Wilson/Plame through Kristof too. i believe upon hearing that Wilson's wife was instrumental in sending him to Niger for the CIA Miller could easily have put two and two together and inserted the name because of her own personal knowledge.
Exactly! The ignorant OLD MEDIA caught in another lie about a made up story. The "super secret spy" was attending a Clinton state dinner in 1999 with her ambassador husband. There is a photo of it.
