Time's Matthew Cooper Expected to Testify
Las Vegas Sun (AP) ^ | July 13, 2005 | Pete Yost

Time magazine reporter Matthew Cooper, a key figure in the Karl Rove controversy, showed up at U.S. District Court on Wednesday. The grand jury investigating the leak was meeting, and it was expected Cooper would testify. He did not comment while entering the courthouse.

Meanwhile, President Bush and first lady Laura Bush are standing by Rove, whose role in the leak of an undercover CIA officer's identity has prompted Democrats to call for dismissal of the president's top political adviser.

Cooper wrote an article in 2003 in which he identified the officer as Valerie Plame. It was disclosed this week that the story ran after a July 11, 2003, conversation with Rove during which the political adviser discussed Plame but not by name.

Cooper had refused to reveal his source for the story but agreed to do so after a confidentiality agreement was waived. That came just before Cooper could have been sent to jail for not cooperating with the investigation into who in the Bush administration leaked her name and whether that constituted a crime

Plame was not a covert agent, but a paper pusher. She had not been out in the field for 9 years.

If you are going to post lies about MY PRESIDENT AND KARL ROVE go somewhere else.

And now Cooper is saying he is going to write an article in Time about his conversations with Rove. Rove may have waived his super secret background so the man wouldn't have to go to jail. However, if he now writes about it before the grand jury is over he is a slimy scumbag.

I have no idea who Mandy Gruenwald is. But isn't Hillary the one who demnded a special counsel to investgate the Plame outing? If Mandy is married to Cooper, and Mandy is a Hillary supporter, maybe Mandy should be looked into.

Iv'e heard that to. But it makes me wonder, why is there an investigation in the first place if there was no crime committed???????

MM,

Who do you think that Judith Miller is protecting in jail?

Certainly not Rove, we both know that if it was Rove she would have long ago given up the name, probably in early November right before the election to create the most possible slime.

Rove told a reporter (Cooper) to watch out for this Wilson character-- he's a loose cannon. And he was correct. He did not leak a name.

The investigation was ordered by Clinton hold-over George Tenet. The Dems in Congress requested the special prosecutor.

Mandy Gruenwald is a long time friend, apologist, and employee of Hillary Clinton. She was a White House staffer assigned to Hillary during the clinton Administration. She's very tight with the Clintons. I did not know, until this brouhaha, that she was married to Time reporter matt Cooper. This whole thing stinks to high heaven.
