Arrest and release to monitor them?

Well, that really worked well.

How about deporting the bad guys sometime?

Why do free societies not have the right to keep out those who want to destroy the infrastructure?

Hey politicians, you guys have bodyguards. The rest of us don't. Why don't you stop your nonsense and do your jobs.

and the monitoring seems to have worked real well. hell, they were only able to walk into the subway past the security cameras wearing knapsacks - where was the "monitoring"?

because they lack the political courage to take on the left and the media, who spend their days filling the mushy minds of the sheeple with the "profiling is bad", "the muslims are being tortured", mantra. the US is only slightly better then the UK in this regard. Only because the 9-11 attack was so big and so dramatic, is public opinion here somewhat different. Had 9-11 involved 52 dead in the NYC subways, it likely would have been treated like the UK is doing - as a criminal incident, not a war.

Arrest and release to monitor them?

This happens 100 times a day at our southern border. Only we don't even bother with the "monitoring" part.
