I've read several versions of the origin story, and don't know which one to believe.

Well, for once, Snopes.com actually got it right. I'd never seen their write up until I was about to post this reply and did a quick google on "linda thompson body count". The list originally started way back before this internet thingy was big time. I was a contributor on her "Motherboard" BBS when we first started noticing all the strange "coincidental" deaths that seemed to follow Bill & Hillary. There was a lot of weirdness going on back then, and the Body Count was only the tip of the iceberg.
