Among the seven liberal bishops scheduled to speak at the event is Joe Sprague of Illinois, who has publicly denied the virgin birth, blood atonement, and bodily resurrection of Jesus Christ. Say it ain't so Joe ... for this announcement is simply depressing.

Peole like Sprague really should not think of themselves as Christian seeing as how he deines some of its basic tenets.

How can you believe all of those things and still call yourself a Christian? Especially the last one.

It isnt bad enough we have the ACLU and atheists attacking Christians every day, now we have Churches going against themselves by condoning homosexuals.
Between Islamics, ACLU and faggots Christianity seems doomed.

The only possible bright spot here is that they are gathering in God's name. Maybe he'll touch them.
And it's better than Greenwich Village on Halloween!

Called "Hearts of Fire," the conference is being organized by the pro-homosexual Methodist group Reconciling Congregations. According to that group's website, one forum will "explore the development of transgender and gender queer spirituality" as well as the "sources of gendering." Participants are encouraged to "come with a robust interest in all things gender, whether or not they themselves are gender non-normative." That's got to be one of the funniest things I ever read!

"explore the development of transgender and gender queer spirituality" I suppose that the answer has nothing to do with man falling from grace and being corrupted by sin.

The IRD spokesman supposes that should a group from the gaming or tobacco-growing industry wish to rent the facility, it would be turned away in deference to the UMC's beliefs regarding gambling and smoking. "But for some reason," he notes, "opposition to the United Methodist teachings on one of the foremost issues confronting our culture today -- the definition of marriage -- did not disqualify [this] event."What kind of chance did smoking or gambling have against bonesmuggling?
Damned liberals "playing" church again.

I have been there many years ago. A really pretty place.
I am surprised but will really be shocked if Ridgecrest hosts a homo conference.

Yet another reason why I left the Methodist church. Do these people have even a passing acquaintance with the Scriptures?
