Because to people like Joe Sprague, its all about them, and very little about God. They call themselves Christians, but then make up their own rules and follow those of God's that they like. Like 'complete vegetarians' who have steak every Saturday.

Too true. There are many on the left who want Christianity to fit in with their world view and not the other way around.
