Home Depot should hear from their ex-customers about this.
Keep in mind that Lowe's has signs in Spanish as well.... Though I still use them rather than the Home Depot across the street from them.
The bowels of Hell have opened up...
As long as employers are offering the jobs, no Congress will be ever to stop them. Hit the employers where it hurts the most, in the profit margin.
In-status immigrants have jobs as a condition of obtaining a work permit and have no need to stand around waiting for day labor. Are you really that dense? Or just obtuse and argumentative?
We have the same situation here in southern California, mostly at "99 cent stores" and similar establishments. It's hard to find an English speaking person who works at those stores. I don't bother going to them anymore.
I don't think this day-labor @ Home Depot phenomenon has "hit" in my area.......however, I can think of a certain poor college kid and his friends that I'm thinking of sending over.......also sounds like good "punishment" for out-of-line teenagers......
I once called the headquarters of Lowes complaining about the signs in Spanish. I was told that they were doing it as a service to their customers.
Sooooo....that's why there were ads in Spanish only on the local Conservative KVI 570 radio station during the day, the other day.....
When I shop for building materials, I go to the little man, the man that was there long before the giants. I always get better service, better quality, and English speaking people.
GOD BLESS THE LITTLE MAN
Yeah, where's the pact with others?
They are free to change jobs or do whatever they want.
Thanks for answering my question!
un_bleeping_believable!!!! I'll be at Lowes from now on.
I've heard the same thing at Lowe's. I give my business to the smaller business in my town who actually have American employees serve American customers. Probably pay a bit more, but it's worth it to me.
Quote: In many areas the only people willing to take construction jobs are Hispanics.
More crapola from a illegal alien apologoist. illegals in my area have dropped framing jobs from $12-14 per hour down to $6 per hour.
Americans want the job but not at $6 per hour especially if they have a mortgage to pay.
When Sherwin Williams opened a tiny paint store right across the street from Lowe's here in town, I thought they must have the business sense God gave a goose. THEN, I began repainting my home and tried to get good paint and good customer service at Lowes......I stood in line at Lowe's for 20 minutes, dealt with a gum-chewing highschool kid for 5 minutes, left the store and went STRAIGHT to the tiny Sherwin Williams store.
To this day, they know me by name, have all my paint colors on record, will special-order stuff for me, give me iced tea as I wait, carry the stuff out to my SUV, and I've never been back to Lowe's for paint again.
I don't have a problem with Spanish being used along with English on store signs, that is just a good business practice in some parts of the country that Adam Smith certainly would have employed. However, pandering to left-wing interest groups and caving to leftist/gay/race extortionists is completely different. This isn't the first time that Home Depot has aided the left in a high-profile way. I haven't heard of similar about Lowes.
So see ya, Home Depot.
Just called Lowes and Home Depot in Decatur, Alabama. ask them about their employment procedure regarding Hispanics, (illegals). Both managers said that they would not comment on the subject.
