Most people judge others on how they act, not who their ancestors were.
Your great great grandfather might have fought the Indians for his land, but unless you are willing to fight me for your land you aren't any different than the person who doesn't even know who his father is.
By the way. Those anchor babies are American citizens, entitled to all the rights and privileges of an American citizen, regardless of who his or her ancestors were.
First, tell us how you would deport 11 million illegal aliens per your post #144 in which you said "If the eleven million illegal immigrants were deported tomorrow..."
Or were you just making a very stupid, childish statement to cover up your ignorance of our current immigration policies regarding illegal immigration?
I have to say that Torrance has great shopping. As for living there, forget it! The kids and I couldn't adjust to the weather down there. They were raised in the desert, and the humidity was not good for them. Victorville and AZ have similar climates. If you've ever taken the I-15 to Vegas, you'll pass right through this city. We're about 3-4 hrs from Vegas. The climate usually isn't humid except for this time of year. Yuck!
We're looking at land up in Phelan and surrounding areas like Oak Springs Valley, and Wild Horse Canyon. Talk about beautiful :-) As long as it isn't Los Angeles county.
Is that why they set their door alarms to go off if you walk inside carrying concealed? That happened to me about 3 months ago. I stopped going there and now go to my local hardware store.
So, basically, there is no American Sovereignty and there is no more official right of citizenship? My 2 2nd cousins who died on the beach at Normandy could've just gone of to Mexico, shirked their responsbility, then come back to enjoy the full benefit of citizenship, including, (in Texas) in-state tuition, grants, loans, for college (as citizens struggle to send their own kids to college). To you, it's all the mighty dollar and economics, isn't it? It's like the difference between the NFL and the NCAA (one is all about money; and for the other, there is still something about loyalty and allegiance).
So, to you & your ilk I'm just like an illegal alien, then, huh.......I'll remember you if my son is called to duty.
Not all day laborers who want to work each day get hired for that day. Many illegal aliens work only one or two days a week, more if they're lucky.
At least you are admitting that the day labor jobs are ones that Americans don't want to do. Since it isn't worth Americans' time to do them why do you object to immigrants doing them?
Yes, for the reasons that I stated. Most Americans have mortgages and several other bills to pay each month. An American working one or two days a week as a day laborer won't bring in enough to pay all of these bills. Many illegal aliens live 10 to an apartment so their monthly living expenses are much lower. I don't object to legal immigrants working as day laborers. I do object to illegal aliens working as day laborers because they are working illegally.
Sadly, I must report that the couple of million illegal alien Mexicans here have brought Tijuana right to our doorsteps.
There you go again thinking it's all about you. There is no difference between you and any other member of FR. Illegal immigrants come in all nationalities.
My background is English/Irish. But I don't feel superior to any English or Irish immigrants who may be out of status. I don't resent or despise illegal aliens from Ireland. I don't get angry if illegal workers from England or Ireland get jobs, or their children attend public schools, or they use ERs for emergencies.
You do realize that Hispanic are only about half of the illegal aliens in America don't you?
I don't judge individuals by their papers. Now that may upset people with good papers because they want everyone to be judged by their papers. Tall people want people to be judged by their height. Rich people want people judged by their money. Lots of people want to be judged on their ancestry. I had great aunts who were unbearably stuck up just because they were members of the DAR.
You are welcome to feel superior to illegals from Mexico because you were here first, have better papers, etc... but I have a right to judge people on their own merits, or the content of their hearts, or their military records, or job skills or education or looks or anything I want.
PS: If you know history you know that for two hundred years we had an Open border with Mexico. There were no ports of entry. Migrants traveled back and forth freely. There were no illegal aliens until the twentieth century. Many migrant workers' ancestors were crossing the border freely before your ancestors even came to Texas. They really out rank you, heritage wise.
I don't care to play childish games.
Yeah, Harbor City, 10th x Orange in Wrong Beach, Wrong Beach two steps from the City of Carson border. I drove past the place we rented on 10th street, 23 years ago, and the Islamics have taken it over.
We all seem to co-exist pretty well up here. I heard that the sheriff ran off the day laborer congregation on Center Street park up here. It was in the local paper, and of course the predictible belly aching(like we see here) occured. I used to live down the street from the park, and they have been there for years.
The newer wave of "immigrants", don't seem to want to be Americans. They want to import their third world lifestyles here, instead of blending in. Tijuana is right...
"Think it's time to start boycotting home depot."
Absolutely.
Each time I go to their store, I feel like being in a third world country, foreign languages and all.
Wenn du Englisch lernnt, dann kanst du wieder schreiben.
Jesse Hijack-son is more fitting :)
"I'm sure Home Depot follows federal and state law in its hiring practices."
Yet, their employee can't complete a sentence of English, and when they do, it's hard to make sense of what they said.
Lowes: please come closer to me.
Then why do you insist on barging in on every discussion on this topic? Childish disruption is your calling card. Do you realize that the minute you show up, we know that you will tie up the thread with useless bullshit?
Of course you do. You enjoy messing with people, and imo, THAT is childish.
Mmmm....did you say Mint Julep? Yummy....
"That answer your question?"
It answered mine too. I'm in disbelief.
Isn't it illegal to hire illegals aliens? I thought it was.
I think this could be a violation of federal employment law. We should get some Asians to go up against it and try and be refused, and then file a class action suit against them because they discriminate in favor of one specific race over others. This in fact is a violation of federal law.
"The last Home Depot store I was in had all signs in both Spanish and English."
Their public announcements are also in Spanish.
