People who "spit hate" at the British way of life should be deported, Tory former Prime Minister John Major said.
Mr Major spoke of the "uncomfortable reality" that many terrorists were born or lived in the UK but had been taught to hate its culture.
"There seem to be many people who, for reasons that are irrational, dislike the Anglo-Saxon way of life," he said.
He called for heavier penalties for those who incited violence at this "particularly sensitive time".
"Always difficult to balance this against freedom of speech but I think, at the moment, it is justifiable to protect the public," he argued.
Mr Major added: "As far as those who literally spit hate at our country and there are some of them - they spit hate at our country and they incite - I personally would be prepared to deport those where it is clear that what they are doing is causing civil unrest and may cost other people, as a result of that, their lives."
He also called for more CCTV cameras to deter the threat and the use of intercept evidence in courts. Interviewed on the BBC Radio 4 Today programme, Mr Major urged the Government to consult widely over new anti-terror legislation.

Given Blair's "invite the representatives of the religion of peace in for a talk" approach to the London attacks, could the Tories have finally found the issue that brings them back to power? This pussy footing around the real problems is going to get the British nowhere.
There were 1.63 million Muslims in the UK in 2001, according to the census that year (source: Wikipedia). More now, I presume.

The "Ruling Class" in both the UK and the USA need to learn the lesson that CCTV's do not "deter" those who are bent on using suicide as a tactic in their terror. The video only provides a historical record after the fact. If enough terrorists are traced back to their "Lairs" via CCTV, then they will take out the cameras first, just before they blow themselves up.
CCTV is to modern society what the Maginot Line was to the French.
Muslims? Heck, if we did it here, we'd be rid of half the country.
That's because if those who they express hatred to, were to respond in kind, those responding would be accused of a "Hate Crime". That's what hate crime legislation is designed to do, allow minority groups to do to majorities whatever they want with impunity. If hate crime legislation ever found itself standing before a wise SCOTUS, it would be unconstitutional by reason of violating equality before the law.
Oh, he had it for a long time, and the third piece too. I was very surprised to find out that John Majors, the most boring, bland politician, was carrying on for many years a torrid affair with some fluffy, jumpy TV personality.

I have a better idea. How about 5 to the head, no questions asked? Openly spew hate against the country that opened it's doors to you and you get rewarded with 72 virgins.
