Mayor Julio de Souza
"Souza said the root cause of Menezes' death was Blair's decision to back the U.S.-led invasion of Iraq. That prompted the wave of terrorist attacks, the mayor said."
A terrorist sympathizer in Brazil.

Has anyone actually protested the killing of 50+ innocent people on July 7?

It's "Bush's fault", yada, yada, yada.
I think that British cop did the right thing under those circumstances.

"They'll be scared, but they'll keep on going because that's the only way to guarantee your future here," he said. You got to love the irony of this gem. The only way to surrive here (in Brazil) is to go (abroad)! LOL. In other words, Mayor Souza's town is so bad that he acknowldges people must LEAVE to guarantee a future in BRAZIL?

"Souza said the root cause of Menezes' death was Blair's decision to back the U.S.-led invasion of Iraq" Sure, all the world's problems can be traced to the U.S./Britain-led coalition ousting Hussein's dictatorship and replacing it with a democracy.
Nearly the entire world still seems to be in denial about Islam.

This is a bad situation, and everyone is very sorry that an innocent person was killed.
I am also sorry that over 3000 innocent people were killed on 9/11. I'm sorry that Innocent people were killed on the London buss, and on their subways.
Terrorism in Europe is not a new thing. In the 70's and 80's there were hundreds of terrorists incidents all over Europe and the UK. Over there things don't work quite the same as they do here. Due to their experience in how to eliminate murderers they have learned a few things. When they say stop, they mean stop!!!! When they yell for everyone to get down, they mean right now!!!! Get used to it, or get over it. These policies are here to stay. The governments of those countries figured out how to stop the terrorism.
They killed the terrorists. So don't be surprised when they do what they know works.

What about 9/11, Bali, the USS Cole, Sharm al-Shiek, Beslan, Beirut, etc.? I guess those were all because of the US invasion of Iraq.
It's like blaming Churchill for the Blitz because he supported Polish opposition to the Nazis.

Expired visa, didn't stop when instructed to by armed police and looking very suspicious with an overcoat on a mild day. Did I leave anything out? Oh yeah, was seen leaving a house under surveillance. These add up to unfortunate circumstances that led to an unfortunate end. If the Brazillian followed the law he would still be alive.

...the British Broadcasting Corp. said Menezes' visa had expired, suggesting a reason for why he ran....
I take it work visas in Brazil never expire.
These protests are really just thinly veiled anti-anglo racism.

"They'll be scared, but they'll keep on going because that's the only way to guarantee your future here," he said. Uh? How about getting rid of the corrupt, leftist government so that you no longer live in a third-world cesspool? Then you wouldn't have to ILLEGALLY invade other countries to have a future.....

This is organized by the left. Missing from the story are the professional lefties who are acting as "spokesmen" for the family, etc. What, you think that these protestors were just average people minding their own business who suddenlty decided to protest?
If conservatives tried to pull a stunt like this the media would clearly describe the thing as "staged by far-right activists".
But, for left political theater - they are always content telling only half the story.

"What happened to English justice and England, a place where police patrol unarmed?"Guess you haven't heard that there is a war on terror. Also, maybe you want to tell all your friends and relatives what "stop in the name of the law" means.

I too am outraged!!!
What kind of a world do we live in when a man can't go into a subway system which was bombed twice in 2 weeks, leap over a turnstile, and run from police with guns drawn, when they tell him to stop?
I mean how far do we allow the requirement to obey the law to go? Pretty soon we will stop people from wearing suicide belts into subways. It doesn't mean they will explode them! the police have just gone too far!
