Canadian Government Pondering Reinstating MP Canned for Anti-Anerican Rampage
OTTAWA, July 27, 2005 (LifeSiteNews.com) - The Liberal Party of Canada may be reconsidering their decision to throw out Carolyn Parrish, the MP for Mississauga who made her career pandering to leftist anti-Americanism. The question remains open as to whether the party is reconsidering having also thrown out the extremism she represents.
On the eve of the US Invasion of Iraq in 2003, Parrish was overheard saying she hated Americans and calling them "bastards." Then-Prime Minister Jean Chretien had little interest in improving relations with the US and dismissed demands that she be punished, a decision taken as tacit agreement with her sentiments.
After the succession of Paul Martin to power, the party's position towards the US softened slightly. In August 2004, Parrish again created controversy by referring to those supporting the North American missile defence proposal as "a coalition of the idiots," at a moment when relations between Canada and the US were perhaps at their most delicate. Even then, Martin declined even to ask her to apologize.
Parrish then appeared in a scene on the CBC's political television programme, This Hour Has 22 Minutes that showed her stomping on a doll representing President George Bush.
Even this did not elicit a response from the party's leadership. It was not until she went on to say that she had no loyalty towards the Liberal Party and that if it were defeated in the next election she "would not shed a tear," that she was finally expelled from the caucus.
Parrish told the Globe and Mail this week that she and the party are considering reconciling. "I am having discussions with some members of the party, but a lot of my colleagues want me back," she said.
The party has yet to nominate a replacement for her riding of Mississauga. The Globe reports that the Liberals, facing an election next year, do not want to risk Parrish, who is popular in her riding, taking votes away from another Liberal candidate and possibly allowing a Conservative Party win.

This has nothing to do with political beliefs. It is purely an attempt by the Liberals to hold onto every seat they can. Watch them buy her way back in, even if she consistently votes with the Liberals...
She has no clue what politics entails - and will continue to portray herself and therefore her country, in a bad light -
She certainly is entertaining and if that is the kind of representation her party is looking for, and they can't talk Dean into changing his citizenship to Canadian, then I think they should just go for it!
Personally, I would want to be represented by persons with a little more class and a lot more tact, but that's just me.

Sure - but what would you expect out of the party that bought Belinda Stronach by giving her a cabinet post? By the way, I wasn't aware that Mississauga had such a serious drug problem (must have because there would not appear to be a better explanation as to why Parrish is 'so popular').
Parrish, the MP from Mississaugua near Detroit, represents a district that in the nineteen nineties was home to a radical office of both the World Association of Muslim Youth and the Benevolence International Foundation. There, radical Islamists abound, and I think she has more to worry about closer to home than the big bad United States.

Actually, the NDP are quite weak in most parts of the GTA. It is a fortress for the Liberals, like it is the only party.

Most goverments have their embarassing members. This, uh, person, is one of Canada's. Apparently she has a constituency up there.
And since that is the case, it is probably a good thing for Canada that America is generally so uninterested in it, otherwise we'd send a couple of brigades up there for a few weeks, knock over their government, and level Toronto and Montreal, just for drill.

It's not Mississaugua but my old hometown of Windsor which is next to Detroit. Windsor and Essex County has one of the largest Arab populations in Canada, as well as a significant Muslim population, but I never heard about the World Association of Muslim Youth making it its home there.
