It's Thursday at the Finest... Time for another tell it like it is John's 2cents!!!!
We often take God's blessings for granted until they are taken from us. Then we recognize how important even the most common gifts of God really are. There's a legend about a day the sun didn't rise. At 6:00 in the morning it was dark. At 7:00 it was still night. Noon came and it was like midnight. By 4:00 in the afternoon, people flocked to the churches to beg God for the sun. The next morning, huge crowds gathered outdoors to face the eastern sky. When the first rays of sunlight pushed open the door of the morning, the people burst into cheers and praised God for the sun. The psalmist knew he couldn't possibly remember all of God's benefits to him. He was distressed that he might forget them all, so he took his sluggish soul in hand, shook it, and urged it to consider at least some of the good gifts God gave to him. Because God's goodness is as constant as the sun, we are in danger of forgetting what He showers on us each day. If we count our blessings one by one, we'll never get finished. But if we jot down a list of 10 or 20 gifts God gives us each day, something will happen to our hearts. Let's try it and find out for ourselves. Haddon Robinson
God's new mercies greet our eyes; And when twilight shadows fall, Evening blessings brighten all. Anon. If you want to be rich, count all the things you have that money can't buy.

Good morning dear Sistah.. my goodness you were up with the birdies (or late with owls?) to post this. But great job. I have a hard time (as you all know) with the associated graphics and yours are great. Outstanding job indeed !!!! and John's essay is as usual humorous. I had not read it when it "arrived" and so it is fresh now. Thanks to both of you.
I will be seeing Amy/Marissa today if all goes well. I understand you might see them again Sat before they leave. If I didn't have plans for Sat in Columbus, I would join you also.. Maybe it would work out.. might just see if I can juggle a few things around.

(here's the tune in case you were at music lessons, group sports or doing something else more productive than I was on Saturday mornings in your youth: http://www.fuggled.co.uk/Nostalgia/Road%20Runner.mp3)
If you're in the Beltway and Rove Runner goes beep beep.
Just step aside or you might end up in a heap.
Rove Runner, Rove Runner looking out for the USA.
Even the liberals can't make him change his ways.
Rove Runner, the left is after you.
Rove Runner, liberals cant see that theyre through.
Rove Runner, the the left is after you.
Rove Runner, liberals cant see that theyre through.
That Joe Wilson is really a crazy clown,
When will he learn that he can never mow Rove down?
Poor little Rove Runner never bothers anyone,
Just runnin' our agenda is his idea of having fun.
Rove Runner, the left is after you.
Rove Runner, liberals cant see that theyre through.
Rove Runner, the the left is after you.
Rove Runner, liberals cant see that theyre through.
BEEP BEEP!
I'm sorry I'm late, and now I can't quit laughing. This is too funny, John, and the illustrations are way too good, dutchess! Glad we had this one on the back burner since John's got company coming and didn't get a new essay written Tuesday night!
