Defend the Federalist Society! (A plan of action)
July 29, 2005

Posted on 07/29/2005 4:09:37 AM PDT by Timeout

The NY Post has an op-ed today called "McCarthy Liberals". It outlines the Democrats' attack on the Federalist Society as some sort of subversive, extremist conservative cabal. (with help from the media, of course)

I'm not heartened by Republicans' response to the attack. Rather than duck their heads, they need to vigorously defend their fellow conservatives AND educate the public on the role the Federalist Society has played in defending the separation of powers and the proper role of the judiciary.

Here's what I suggested in a letter to the editor, NY Post:

EVERY SINGLE REPUBLICAN IN CONGRESS WITH A LAW LICENSE SHOULD---AS A GROUP---APPLY FOR HONORARY MEMBERSHIP IN THE FEDERALIST SOCIETY.

Do not let the Rats succeed in marginalizing the best and brightest Republican lawyers. What a shame it would be if a GOP lawyer with judicial ambitions hesitates to "associate with" the Federalist Society out of fear that it will be used against him/her in the future.

Sorry for the vanity. Please don't delete it.
I'm hoping some GOP congressional staffer will read
this and pass it on. Thanks.

Judge Roberts in his opening statement of his senate hearing should say that i'm a proud supporter of the federalist society; it will end the argument for the libs
Lets see so far the RATS criteria for SCOTUS:
anti-christian
anti federalist society
anti guns
pro baby murdering
pro aclu
gee that only leaves george soros and jane fonda qualified for SCOTUS in this great country according to the RATS

OMG, I hadn't thought of that angle.

You don't suppose... Roberts wasn't by any chance a {{{shudder}}} Boy Scout, was he?!!!

I should have added "SCOTUS" as a keyword.
Can it be added after the thread is posted?

She's away until this afternoon. I'll ask Mo to ping the list and add a few pings of my own.

In no time at all, kcvl will post the names of all the GOP senate lawyers!

Please ping your lists.

Timeout's idea is GOLD: we write to all GOP senate lawyers, telling them to gain homorary membership in the Federalist Society!

Yes, just ask the mod by either a ping or hit abuse with your own request.

That's very close to something I've been wondering.
Will the Rats go so far as to review all the SERMONS
delivered by Roberts' parish priest. I wouldn't be
a bit surprised.

I also want the Constitution upheld. Its interesting that I have heard news reports about the laws the Supreme Court makes. Huh? That is so ignorant. The court shouldn't even 'interpret' laws. What they should do is check for the Constitutionality of law.

If Ginsberg could state she was in favor of a woman's privacy rights and to treat her otherwise was treating her like a child, how can she agree with prohibition laws? Prohibition of drugs, prescriptions and even the FDA's ability to tell us what medical procedures we can have and which we can't also treat us like children.

If Ginsberg can declare she is on one side, why isn't Roberts going to be allowed to declare his views? But the Dems want ANY excuse to filibuster him. I hope it doesn't happen.

There exists today a pacemaker for the stomach which works the same as 'stomach stapling'. The difference is that 10% of stapling patients have MAJOR problems like stroke and heart attack and 1% die. No side effects have been found in the pacemaker.

How is it that the FDA only counts the deaths after approval and doesn't count the deaths before approval? That is treating us like children.

By the way, I'm a supporter of a woman's right to control her own body.

There are probably plenty of Republicans in Congress who either don't agree with everything the Federalist Society stands for, or would get kicked out for being a RINO.

I had no idea!

I just made a donation to the Federalist Society through PayPal!

Go to the link, click on Donors at the top. You'll be taken to a page which includes a PayPal link. It's all set up...took no more than a minute. There are alternative ways to give.

Pass the word.
