TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) -- Florida State University doesn't plan to change its "Seminoles" nickname.
The NCAA decided today to ban schools using Native American names and symbols from hosting championship events. But Florida State President T-K Wetherell says he'll sue the NCAA for its - quote - "outrageous and insulting" decision.
Wetherell says - quote - "This university will forever be associated with the "unconquered" spirit of the Seminole Tribe of Florida."
The NCAA decided to ban the use of American Indian mascots by sports teams during its postseason tournaments. And nicknames or mascots deemed hostile or abusive won't be allowed on team uniforms at collegiate tournaments after February First.
The Seminole Tribe of Florida has issued a resolution supporting Florida State's "Seminoles" nickname.
Good and this Longhorn will now go out and by a Flordia State shit to wear to support their cause. Then I will burn it if my Horns play the 'Noles someday!
Yes..they gave us permission years ago when this crap first came up. But true to liberalism, the liberals are trying to force THEIR own will for the GOOD of the unsuspecting people. Unreal. I hope this goes all the way to the Supreme court.
They should rename themselves the Florida State Condoms - I'm sure that would be OK with the NCAA.
I think it's time to disband the NCAA. They have outlived their usefulness anyway.

This is now affecting me personally now...what is it with liberals and the state of Florida? They do everything in their power to screw up my state, now my university. Thank God, even the liberal alumni are furious at this. In some of the internet bulletin boards they are speaking out.
